Wayne's World 1992
Before the screening Penelope Spheeris told an anecdote about curving Paul Schrader in college and how it caused Robert De Niro to reject her.
I should’ve done a Wayne’s World instead of college.Translated from by -
A Fish in the Bathtub 1998
Just so enamored with Silver’s sensibilities. The colors, the characters, the cast. The way she charts these small increments of growth is just so tender and beautiful.
Stiller and Meara are perfect here. They jerked every tear from my eyes in those final moments. Stiller particularly. He just looked at her in this way that conveyed an undying love.
Ruffalo and Adams are perfect siblings.

Black Christmas 1974
There’s so much I could rant about with this film, but it’s 2 AM and I need to sleep. Adored this so much on a second go around. Never even came close to nodding off during this midnight screening. We had the perfect audience for this showing. A whole new side of the film’s comedy opened up to me.
Those phone calls are some of the most disturbing things put to screen.
The audio match cuts scattered throughout the flick are so indicative of the film’s balance of comedy and horror. Fucking perfect. One of my favorite prints I’ve seen all year.

Nosferatu 2024
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
At its best when it digs into the psychosexual nature of Nosferatu and Ellen's sexual repression. Dafoe, Corrin, Hoult, and Ineson beautifully chew up the scenery. A beautiful use of shadow and darkness.
I think it’s the same issue I have with The Northman…the Skarsgård. He just lacks the intrigue that actors like Kinski, Schreck, Dafoe, and Oldman brought to the part before him. Despite the much longer runtime, Orlok isn’t given any time to become more than a name…
