Parts of this are probably the closest you could get to Portrait of a Vampire on Fire in the 1930's.

This one feels more like a TV episode than a movie, which is in this case a huge plus. It nails that particular Case of the Week feel you get from putting on an old episode of Bones or C.S.I..
