The Immortal 2019
Have so much love for the show Gomorrah which this is connected to, but this just felt like a 2hr episode (not a compliment) and begs the question, did this story really need a movie, or could it have been told within the show?

Memories of Murder 2003
A technical masterpiece in every sense from cinematography to blocking, editing, and mise-en-scène all top-tier. Builds tension beautifully while having moments of dark humor. I had some issues with certain parts, especially in the third act, but man was this gripping from start to finish.

Taxi Driver 1976
Didn’t love this as much as I expected to. Story wise it’s way ahead of its time and it’s haunting how much this parallels today’s world with unchecked resentment leading people down dark paths. The performances were great, and New York looks incredible with the neon lights. Maybe on a rewatch I’ll connect with it the way everyone else seems to.
