I don't think Anthony Mackie is great as a leading man. He works better when playing off other people in a shared starring role but he still deserved better than the slop this writer and director gave him. I honestly can't think of anything in this movie that I can honestly say I enjoyed other than SOME of the Red Hulk stuff. They couldn't even give me fun Serpent Society...because they are SERPENT, OK? Take this seriously!

I have no fucking clue what is actually going on but the movie inexplicably starts with Neil getting hit by a bus and then just brushing himself off.

With practice comes experience...for most. For Neil, each release seems to be worse than the last and I'm here for it.

There is literally not one negative thing I can say about this movie. Godzilla is a terrifying force of nature on land and in the water. The scene with Godzilla and the boat calls back to Jaws and is just as terrifying. By the end of the film I was tearing up. The human characters are fantastic...they are important and make the movie special. This is the type of Godzilla film that, in my opinion, a Western filmmaker could not do.

Go see this if you love Godzilla movies. Go see this is you love good movies.
