  This movie opens up with a landscape. Hitchcock sure does love landscapes. This one isn't as pretty as the San Francisco one in Vertigo, though. Trash and stuff. And look at all these dissolves!   It seems like this was an incredibly polarizing movie; everyone I talked to raved about it or trashed it. This makes sense, given the hype it received and its ever-so quirky sense of humor, which always receives mixed reception (anyone anti-anything-that-may-remind-them-of-John-Green may want to avoid this movie). To me, Moonrise Kingdom was neither a masterpiece nor a trashterpiece. It was just a quality movie.
