    Saw this at Marina Mall on OMR last night. (Just in case future-me is wondering where I realized Harshath Khan is going places.) For the first 25%, I was getting seriously annoyed with the "tharkuri" stuff and whatever they were trying to do with it. But thankfully, the movie got its act together and actually handled it pretty well later on.

    It was very aesthetic watch- full of vibrant colors, lots of shades of pink and purple. I liked the near-symmetrical shots throughout the movie. The hurried dialogue added a certain energy to the movie. It felt like a movie, but also distinctly personal- like reading a story book. I enjoyed watching it.

    Fun brain-rot low-effort watch. Good to see the classic Santhaanam timing jokes. I don't see how this is a family watch though- the overly glamorous parts (which carried the movie, to be frank) were very awkward to watch with the family. Having item songs in movies is a thing, but in MGR, there's some movie in between the item songs.

    I watched Shershaah when it was released a few years ago, and that film definitely made me feel deeply and even brought a tear to my eye towards the end. Unfortunately, Amaran did not work that way for me.
