Slam dancing, garbage eating, mindless zombie surf punks!
You know when you were too young to understand "adult humor", but you ended up watching a movie far more advanced than your young mind was ready for?
Surf II might be considered silly "low brow" humor, but my reaction to it was a mix of confusion and horror as the sex comedy belched out its vulgar, violent, and surreal spoof of surf culture. The slight horror and sci-fi elements were strange…
If Atlantis really existed in hollow earth, a lost civilization from outer space, and the society and atmosphere was like 1984, that's basically Alien from LA.
This movie is far from perfect but there is a lot to love about it. If not the plot or the characters, then certainly Atlantis itself. The look and feel reminds me of movies like Liquid Sky, or Sayadian's Dr. Caligari and Cafe Flesh. These types of movies make up my dark cult '80s…
The Final Terror is one of those slashers that I wouldn't call a favorite, but still a good movie I like to revisit. It's tricky to talk about because there is a lot I love about it but I don't want to oversell it.

The Knights Templar are excommunicated for practicing black magic and blood rituals, executed for their crimes, and crows eat the eyes out from their corpses. They return from the dead as dusty, hooded skeletons, hunting their victims by sound. Lots of blood drinking and supernatural, slow motion horseback riding. Beautiful shots of medieval church ruins. Chanting-pounding-moaning-shrieking soundtrack. Dripping with atmosphere and stirring dread. Often dreamlike and surreal.
The Horseman of Horror Amando de Ossorio has become one of my favorite directors. I love his entire filmography. Spanish horror at its finest. Tombs of the Blind Dead is more than recommended, it's mandatory viewing.
