R.E.M. Tourfilm 1990
R.E.M. I love you. This is just such a cool movie/music doc . In 1988 we didn’t exactly know it yet but R.E.M. were about to own the alt rock world’s ass (and pretty much the rest of the music world’s too). Here they are back then, when the world was still young, showcasing their particular ability to walk with dazzling grace the line between the alternative experimental arthouse and the accomplished school of music. Palpably authentic, fresh, confident, unstoppable. There’s also reference made to a liberal political agenda, some eyeliner and a megaphone. Did I mention that I love them?

First time back at the cinema since lockdown and, oops, Chris Nolan might just have fucked with physics once too often.
