    Noah recommended we watch this after I showed him Hanging Rock for the first time- and I see why he recommended it! Honestly it's gorgeous, and I'm a major sucker for the use of pagan symbology. The use of music in this one is especially cool- all that 70's folk music revival.

    Sweet cute fun nice, lovely! A promising start to what ended up being a somewhat disappointing turning point for Disney originals. 

    Like that it established the better written love interest, but the lack of a sisterly relationship is GLARING here, (which was obviously perfected in the 5 star, maybe best Disney movie ever: Frozen).

    But look of all the princesses, of course I love the quirky purple dress princess with a little chameleon as her sidekick~

    Honestly so gorgeous, every shot was like a beautiful pastel painting. All of the outfits Vicky wears throughout the movie are so gorgeous too. It certainly took its time doing things, but as a fan of a slower-pace I wasn’t bothered.

    Ultimately the surreal ballet of The Red Shoes performed in full for us was one of the coolest and most inspiring scenes of a movie I’ve ever seen! Vicky is perfectly cast, the dancing is hypnotic.
