  Dreamworks has a long history of great character work, though it's often lagged behind rivals Pixar in originality and the quality of the animation. The Wild Robot blows this out of the water - it's easily the most beautiful looking film they've ever produced, though with a fairly standard (but well-executed) story.

  Masquerading as a relatively well-made standard disaster flick, Mira is actually a cautionary tale of how we are literally always being spied on. Except I think they think it's a positive thing in this movie?

  Luca takes some real swings with this one (stylistically, forgive the pun), some of which really work and a few of which probably don't. But hot damn... when it's good, it's really good. Five stars for the pitch-perfect leads and the bangin' score, too.
