A lot of good and enjoyable parts to this movie! Pattinson is a delight! But there’s a lot of this film that just feels overstuffed— ungapatchka, if you will. I think the fault lies in the editing, both the movie as a whole but also in how a lot of the comedy just…doesn’t time out right. Probably could have cut a few scenes and a side character or two and had a tighter film. Still, a good time at the movies, and I would die for those aliens because they made me think of my cat.

This one’s for the boys for sure! Lots of great dudes in here, lots of great procedures I know nothing about but was nevertheless very keyed into. Hackman and Denzel are electric, packing a lot of star power into two pretty restrained performances. The silver surfer reference caught me so off guard, as well as the (now extremely chilling) final message that, as of 1996, power to arm nuclear submarine missiles lies solely with…the PRESIDENT??
