I really enjoyed the first half but the second half just wasn't the same. Not bad, but just not the same.

Sean Baker has a real talent in capturing raw settings and the people who live in them. Like The Florida Project, the cinematography was one of the movie's biggest selling points (granted I'm a hoe for warm colors and lens flares, but still). The story did feel pretty slow at the beginning but the second half escalates really quickly that I think it makes it worth viewing.

After rewatching this a second time, I'm kind of astonished over how different my experience was than my first viewing. I remember actually disassociating in the theater after watching this last fall because this film does such a good job in blurring what's fake and what's reality.

Now that I got over the twists and knew what to expect, I really appreciated what this movie has to say over our expectations of our idols and how people (women specifically) need to curate the perfect avatar. This is a movie way ahead of its time and it actually continues to be more terrifying as time goes by.
