Every now and then you see a piece of cinema mastery in which the story, writing, acting, and editing all blend together into a memorable piece of art.

It feels like they put together the end piece, then had to somehow get the main cast from point A to point Z while trying to provide character arcs, plot points, and some semblance of emotion. Unfortunately they failed.

What an utterly ridiculous movie. The weird comic book effects, the nonsensical storyline, the completely over-the-top "magic" effects and so on.
I loved it!
Michael Cera fit the role really well, though it certainly matched the "young and awkward" stereo-type he's fallen into. The choreographed fight scenes were very well done, and the crazy visual effects fit the action really well.
If you value a story, this is definitely not the movie for you. But if you want a film that requires very little thought, incorporates some nice action sequences and has really quite impressive visual effects, I would heartily recommend it.
