An experience I seem to have with Blade Runner is the fact that it feels as if I watched the movie for the first time each time, with a different perspective highlighted to me upon each visit. Shyamalan has an unparalleled finger on the pulse when it comes to the public canon and pop culture and effortlessly shifts through thriller, absurdity, and suspense in a miriad of different environments. Once again proving he’s the master of what he does with his recent unofficial “father-daughter” trilogy of films, and I can’t help but to notice both the depth and melancholy that angle has left on his recent outings.

James Gunn, who was initially fired upon finding his unpleasant pedo jokes on Twitter, was given the opportunity from Warner Bros to direct The Suicide Squad. Interestingly in the film, every character we're meant to root for has a hardline against killing children, which is deemed "crossing the line." At the start of the film, we're introduced to Weasel, played by the brother of James Gunn, who is charged for killing 20 children, and drowns in the first 10 minutes.…
So clearly and completely fulfills the philosophy of the rebuilds—and consequently, reveals (or remakes) the true intentions of the original franchise—with a lighter yet more artistically mature tone and drive.
Insane to see a franchise that mattered so much to me as young teenager finally come to an end, that in a strangely funny way, I feel as if I've also matured along with the series, its characters, and its creator. Hoping the best for Anno and his future endeavors.
