    SPOILER ⚠️

This movie sucked on so many levels. Josh Hartnett tried his best but it seemed like he was given no direction at all, seemed like he got the script four days before and he would randomly start to act out the traits of this supposed “Butcher” only after they were clearly exposition dumped by the non-factor FBI lady. I think this is just about the same as the first one but I docked a half a star because I cannot stand in sequels when they just magically throw in a son of a villain and we have no knowledge of them ever being entangled in anything other than themself, just cheap.

I’m a sucker for a great love story and this movie tugs at the heart strings. Also, James Cameron’s effects he had done especially considering the time are insane! He really brought the fear and angst of what it would’ve been like on that boat for the audience. As a man with tics and bad anxiety this movie had me pulling out my hair. Great flick and great acting by Kate Winslet IMO she brought it home for me. Also, Billy Zane, screw you buddy if I saw you in real life I’d Australian Death Star you, you dirty scum.

This was pretty good. I enjoyed the action a lot and thought that the three stars of this film did really well, I could almost feel how much Mescal was wanting to get Hanno right.

With that being said, I still feel like Scott didn’t let any characters show as much depth as it may have required to get close to the first film. Now in his defense doing a sequel 24 years later that’s gotta be tough to be…
