  Whoa.

  This I was not expecting. This was brutal. Really, really brutal. And yet, despite or even BECAUSE of that, I am so impressed.

  Isao Takahata pulls no punches here. This is devastating work and any argument that animation is just for kids is laid to waste by this movie and this was 1988.

  I think it’s time for Christopher Nolan to stop writing his own movies if this is where it’s come to. He’s in danger of becoming a parody of himself.

  Completely nonsensical. The sound design is appalling, such a major oversight, in turn making the dialogue a code to decrypt at every moment.

  This has to be one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve ever had in a cinema. And viewing this paired with Interstellar only highlights everything this film is…
