This one surprised me. A Christmas and Santa hater has to chase around the real Santa because he thinks Santa is delusional. Ludacris is hilarious in this, and overall this movie made me laugh by just how straight it is. Classic “you just have to believe” Christmas movie, but it didn’t feel dry or overused. Some parts were serious enough that it tied in realistic problems in a fantasy world, and that’s always a hard, but necessary thing to do. It was relatable enough to where I wasn’t making fun of the whole time.

Watched solo at home (to end the unexpected Christmas tree movie marathon).

Might be a hot take but I like this one more than the original. I think 1 is more iconic and has more recognized scenes, but 2 as a whole I think is better. Maybe it’s the Net York aspect, but man this one is good. Another one of pure joy. It’s impossible to root against Kevin McCallister and all the more to root against Harry and Marv.

Solo at home after setting up Christmas Tree.

This movie is solid. New Jersey getting a shoutout always makes me smile, and New Brunswick none-the-less!? And a track runner. Already felt a personal attachment to the main character, Ethan. Action thriller is also one of my favorite genres so I don’t really have any gripes with this. It’s a simple style, yet each turn had me wondering what would happen next. It felt like Ethan was at the edge of turning but the villain (Jason Bateman) always had…
