I watched the 200 minute cut on YouTube. Closest thing to a straightlaced crime epic Miike has done - the focus on inter-syndicate politics very much reminded me of the Outrage series by Beat Takeshi - a much more well rounded execution of some of the themes explored here. An enjoyable, if somewhat jagged experience. Not an ideal entry point into Miike’s work but there’s a lot of aspects of his style and craft balanced here.
