  I remember when this was about to come out in cinemas in Australia (I would have been 7) and my dad pointed to an ad for it in the newspaper and said “this is going to be a masterpiece” and i questioned how he knew so confidently that it would live up to his expectations. It ended up being the first Ghibli movie I watched and I became obsessed with Haku. Having rewatched it so many times, i notice now how much the costuming influenced me subconsciously, in my dressing and design.

  The upwards crying while falling scene will forever destroy my heart. A masterpiece indeed!
