Gladiator II 2024
Do you like Gladiator? Well good news! You can watch something similar minus the compelling narrative, well-paced storytelling and emotional attachment to the characters. AND you'll also get cartoonish / stupid moments, and character deaths that have zero impact.
The narrative-whiplash makes it feel like there was another 30 mins to this that they cut out, which may have led to some character development. But I am not advocating for another 2.5-3 hour movie.

Evil Dead Rise 2023
I was not a fan of over-the-top, gory horrors. And I am still not. The director is Irish though, so that's nice.
If you are a fan of these films, you will probably enjoy it. It doesn't stray very far from the premise. And there are some outrageously gross sequences.
