Depeche Mode 101 1989
I’m honestly grateful this movie came out right before Violator. Depeche Mode is a band that seriously improved after each album, and it’s great to see them progress from a standard Yaz-esque synth pop group to the dark and seductive act we know and love. Black Celebration and Music for the Masses (the album they toured for during the movie) are incredible works.
Essential for any Depeche Mode fan. Great to see intimate shots of the fans that stuck along. Heartbreaking to see Fletch.

Videodrome 1983
This movie is the pinnacle of body horror. Dig deep into the pulsating flesh and you will find not only a visceral experience, but a novel message about our relationship to media and technology. I use it when my social media feeds suddenly devolve into CCTV snuff content and borderline pornographic content. Is it the personalized algorithm, or is it tailored and controlled to define the Internet warped, living organism that is media we consume - and see through?

The Most Hated Woman in America 2017
why the FUCK would you make the climax of your movie:
draw out the fact that madalyn murray o'hair was viciously murdered and dismembered
place any spotlight on her kidnapper
make this movie about the KIDNAPPING?????
she is a genuinely interesting, insightful human being with her own values and the movie STARTS to highlight this but then ROYALLY fucks up by turning this into a thriller/horror sequence
fuck off

Black God, White Devil 1964
fucking brutal, its visceral depictions of violence and allegorical weight makes up for the amateurish filmmaking, or perhaps that heightens the experience
honestly reminded me of a more coherent el topo, due to its mysticism and religious symbolism
this fucking rules
