I wish this had been more fleshed out, but it was still enjoyable. My favorite parts were learning about the culture of American Samoa: loved the pre-game warrior dance etc, and the fact that everyone had multiple jobs and stopped everything for community prayer time. The conversation prayer near the end was sweet and funny. I always love epilogues that feature the real people, and this one was no exception, and it was entertaining seeing how similar (or not), they looked like the actors.

A very typical rom com dressed up in a fun premise.

Of all of the token representations: woman president, black woman prime minister, half Latino president’s son, etc, the most radical one is having a short man married to a tall woman without making an issue of it. You never see that.

    Nicholas Galitzine is surprisingly talented.

    Love Rachel Maddow in this.

A Chevy, of course, like everyone else in this world.” “You’ll be so hungry if you skip breakfast! Nope, this almond drink…

I love that we are getting more and more films that are multilingual and it’s no big deal. Much funnier than expected - my kid laughed her head off and said that so much of it was “too real”. It felt like the filmmaker took all of the cringey events of this era of his life and fashioned it into a movie.
