  Added half a star after rewatching with my kid. Pat Morita is the greatest. Appreciated how they alluded to the Japanese internment and (possibly) the 442nd regimental combat team. Note: a bunch of references to being a “girl” if you’re a boy who can’t fight. One use of “Nip.”

  I love that we are getting more and more films that are multilingual and it’s no big deal. Much funnier than expected - my kid laughed her head off and said that so much of it was “too real”. It felt like the filmmaker took all of the cringey events of this era of his life and fashioned it into a movie.
