Way better adaptation than Resident Evil/than I expected. It actually has many hallmarks of the game series. It's almost good, but stilted acting and dialogue from everyone really hurts this. Too many things were just stumbled into. I don't think the actual silent hill piano theme was used well though. It's used too much and doesn't match the scenes that it's in. Filmed very stylishly but a lot of prosthetics and CG don't hold up very well. Certain sequences felt unnecessary. Characters make dumb decisions but that happens in the games too so won't hold that against it.

An enjoyable mishmash of martial arts, monster flick, and period drama. The CG are serviceable but they don't match the quality of how good the rest of the movie looks. Despite being rather straightforward, found the revenge plot interesting enough, but certain exposition scenes could've definitely been cut down in length.

Audio/subtitle sync is pretty terrible throughout.

Fights ranged from okay to good, but nothing spectacular for me. Too many extraordinarily strong punches and impossible scenarios.

I enjoyed the sets even though a lot of the background of the scenes still showed their fakeness through the screen.

One of my favorite cameos happens in this movie with a detective on a bench and made the whole watch worth it. Otherwise while I enjoyed the movie I thought it had too many regular musical interludes instead of more fun/wacky ones. Plot is interesting but hinges more around a newsroom then a heist like I was expecting, not bad just different. Made me smile a number of times
