  Dude spent 10 years on this project only to get complained about it not being him enough lol. He adapted a novel he genuinely liked, the actors are great, and the story is rich and attractive. What more to ask for? Letterboxd can be so annoying.

  The humour is there but neither affective nor effective for me. Is this about the depressing state of the world? That's made clear in the first sequence and nothing new is said about it here. Are the two characters supposed to be miserable? Yes, but one of them is a homeowner and the other is protected by the union. Perhaps this is only for a first-world audience. Couldn't take away anything from this film.
