More than 2000 years of desperate coping and seething from apologists and theologians and they still have not actually resolved the Epicurean Paradox

this bit’s potentially faulty reasoning: if god’s love is absolute and all-encompasing, that means god loves everything unconditionally, even evil things.

in the same way that god doesn’t smite us whenever we do something bad because he loves us, god doesn’t stop hurricanes because he loves the hurricane despite the damage it does.

Then that god is indistinguishable from an amoral and asapient universe, and thus without identity or agency, making worship and prayer useless exercises.

The person who acts agently for the good is infinitely more righteous and powerful than a god who loves evil as much as goodness.
