Abstract: This study explores the leadership actions-oriented behavior of school principals in Finland. Actions-orientated behavior
enables the leader to appropriately articulate relations and task orientation to meet the immediate contextual demands and
to accommodate followership toward change and development. The leadership actions-orientated behavior of Finnish school
principals were studied in three schools. In-depth interviews with school actors (principals, vice principals, teachers, special
educators, and nonteaching staff) were conducted to triangulate the analyzed data. It was found that leadership actions-oriented
behavior enabled school leaders to articulate appropriate behavioral patterns to generate motivation and commitment. The
results suggest that actions orientations toward high-on relations enabled leaders to achieve leadership success, while actions
orientations toward high-on task enabled leadership effectiveness. Actions-oriented behavior toward high-on task enables
leadership flexibility with greater leadership elasticity. The results suggest that school actors anticipated a relational approach,
whose actions orientations were high-on task. The results also suggest that relations-oriented behavior is rationally applied by
school leaders who have remained in the organization for a longer time to strengthen the systematic approach. It was found
that leaders’ actions orientation with high-on task were more effective, while leadership actions orientation with high-on
relations generated social harmony. The results suggest that leadership actions-oriented behavioral flexibility and mobility can
be maintained by articulating high relations to low relations and high task to low task, not necessarily from task to relations or
relations to task alone. In doing so, a leader’s personality is prevented from distortions and behavior dysfunction.

The College of Business and Economics (CBE) is an institution of higher learning institutions which enables its students to carry out their internship in various organizations purposely to sustain them with employment environment in the future and this concern the level five students have to conduct the internship attachment and make a report on it after completion.
Then, it is in these views that as an undergraduate student in level five, banking department I have carried out my internship in Kivu sector. It is located in Nyaruguru district which is the most southerly in Rwanda, lying between Mata and Kibeho sector district Its East, Nyamagabe district in North, Rusizi and Nyamasheke in west and along the Burundi border in South.
In fact, during this internship of two months I have acquired how accounting of government entities are done and how local taxes are collected, in addition I’ve learn on how office documents are entered in the system and how are classified so that it easy to get them back. I have been performed two main activities; the first is data entry, checking and document classification where I was supposed to enter and classify all daily transactions, my duties was to ensure that all source documents are entered in the system. The second activity I’ve done is bank reconciliation where I was having duties to make reconciliation of different sector transactions.
In addition, in my internship I got chance of getting experience and networking of the working environment. Before going in my internship I had purpose of matching theoretical skills learned in classroom into field practices. The time I was given full confidence of performing my tasks, it was the best day that I will never forget. Briefly, depending on experience gaining in working place environment I am planning to continues my studies by doing MBA and professional courses so that I will be important person that will give back to the Rwandan society and worldwide as well.
Finally, I would like to encourage both parents, CBE, REB, RARG,NGOs, private sectors and other sponsors involving in education to perform their party accordingly so that internship running in effective manner and provide the greatest performance.

Judul penelitian Analisis Faktor-faktor yang Memengaruhi Keputusan Pembelian (Studi pada Konsumen Warung Dongeng Kopi Jogja) 2016. Dosen pembimbing I Dr. Sigit Haryono, S.Sos, M.Si. dan dosen pembimbing II Dr. Lukmono Hadi, MS.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor apa saja yang memengaruhi konsumen dalam melakukan pembelian produk Dongeng Kopi Jogja. Jenis penelitian exploratory dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode systematic random sampling dengan ukuran sampel 68 responden melalui penyebaran di warung Dongeng Kopi Jogja.
Pengambilan variabel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan 3 teknik. Teknik pertama adalah memecah faktor yang terdapat pada teori. Teknik kedua adalah mengambil variabel dari penelitian terdahulu yang relevan dengan penelitian ini. Teknik ketiga adalah wawancara dengan 10 orang konsumen Dongeng Kopi Jogja pada tanggal 13 April 2016.
Hasil dari analisis faktor menunjukkan bahwa dari 20 variabel yang terekstraksi menjadi 6 faktor baru, dan diberi nama baru (1) Faktor Psikologi Konsumen dengan eigenvalue 5,465, terdiri dari beberapa variabel yaitu; keyakinan dan sikap, pengetahuan dan proses belajar, keunggulan, persepsi, higienis, dan citra merek. (2) Faktor Lingkungan dengan eigenvalue 2,818, terdiri dari beberapa variabel yaitu; kelas sosial, peran dan status, dan keluarga. (3) Faktor Pelayanan dengan eigenvalue 1,653, terdiri dari beberapa variabel yaitu; keragaman alat, metode penyajian kopi, dan kualitas pelayanan. (4) Faktor Pemasaran dengan eigenvalue 1,492, terdiri dari beberapa variabel yaitu; kesesuaian harga, dan kualitas produk. (5) Faktor Pribadi dengan eigenvalue 1,390, terdiri dari beberapa variabel yaitu; pekerjaan dan umur, suasana nyaman, dan tahap daur hidup konsumen. (6) Faktor Perbedaan Individu dengan eigenvalue 1,137, terdiri dari beberapa variabel yaitu; kepribadian dan konsep diri, gaya hidup, dan kelompok.
Saran dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat 6 faktor yang memengaruhi keputusan pembelian konsumen Dongeng Kopi Jogja, maka perusahaan sebaiknya perlu memerhatikan faktor-faktor tersebut guna merumuskan strategi pemasaran yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan keinginan konsumen. Untuk penelitian berikutnya, sebaiknya mencari lagi faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi keputusan pembelian dengan variabel yang lebih banyak, populasi yang lebih luas dan ukuran sampel yang lebih besar lagi sehingga dapat memperbarui teori-teori perilaku konsumen yang sudah lama dengan menyesuaikan perkembangan perilaku konsumen saat ini.

El presente trabajo evaluó la diversidad bacteriana asociada a las biopelículas formadas sobre los ánodos de celdas de combustible microbianas, por medio del análisis del gen del ARNr 16S y observaciones por microscopía electrónica de barrido. Se construyeron celdas de combustible microbianas de una cámara que permanecieron en operación durante 30 días utilizando muestras ambientales como inóculo y único sustrato energético; las celdas fueron monitoreadas en función de la producción de energía durante el desarrollo del experimento; al finalizar los ensayos, se realizó la caracterización molecular y observaciones mediante microscopía electrónica de barrido a las biopelículas formadas. Se reportan valores de densidad de potencia máxima de 4,85 mW/m 2 para el agua residual doméstica y de 1,85 mW/m 2 para el caso del agua residual industrial, con disminuciones de 71 % de la DBO para el agua residual doméstica y de 59 % de la DBO para el caso del agua residual industrial. Se logró la recuperación de 15 secuencias únicas provenientes de la amplificación del gen del ARNr 16S obtenidas a partir de las biopelículas formadas sobre los ánodos. El análisis filogenético ubicó estas secuencias en la clase Deltaproteobacteria. Los dos sustratos ambientales contienen una importante e interesante diversidad microbiana, mostrándolos promisorios para la construcción y operación de MFC y la implementación de procesos de biodegradación de materia orgánica. ABSTRACT This study evaluated the bacterial diversity associated with biofilms formed on the anode of microbial fuel cells (MFC), by analyzing the 16S rRNA gene and observations by scanning electron microscopy. Single chambered MFC were constructed and kept in operation for 30 days using environmental samples as inoculum and sole energy substrate; the MFC were monitored as a function of energy production in the course of the experiment; at endpoint, molecular characterization and observations using scanning electron microscopy was performed to the formed biofilms. Values of maximum power density of 4.85 mW/m2 for domestic wastewater and 1.85 mW/m2 in the case of industrial wastewater are reported, with declines of 71 % of the BOD for domestic wastewater and 59 % of the BOD in the case of industrial wastewater. Recovery of 15 unique sequences from the amplification of 16S rRNA gene obtained from the biofilms formed on the anodes was accomplished. Phylogenetic analysis placed these sequences in the Deltaproteobacteria class. The two environmental substrates contain an important and interesting microbial diversity, showing them very promising for the construction and operation of MFC and implementing biodegradation of organic material.

BADM 460-81 Case Research Team Project

Working in assigned groups, you will research a situation that has challenged an industry in its relationship with society. You will research the background of the situation and determine society’s expectations and legal requirements, if any. Use two companies within that industry as your case illustrations of good and/or bad behaviour/results. If this is a situation that is on-going, please provide a supported opinion as to what you expect the outcome of the case will be and compare that to what would be the optimal outcome in your opinion.

Your findings and opinions will be presented in two ways:

1. First, you will write an executive summary of a maximum of 6 pages (not including title page, table of contents or bibliography).
a. The executive summary should focus primarily on issues, causes and effects, analysis and results.
b. Format: 1.5-spaced, 12 font, 1 inch margins.
c. The report must follow proper executive summary format and parallel what would be expected to precede a 20-25 page report on the subject, although you are not doing a full report in this case.
d. Appropriate citations are required. While citations are not normally required on executive summaries, they are required here because the full report is not being submitted.

2. Second, you will prepare and deliver a 10 minute group presentation on your subject followed by a Q and A with the class.
a. All group members will participate.
b. You will follow excellent presentation format.
c. There will be deductions if notes are used.
d. Visual support is expected.
e. Business attire is required for the presentation.

Hard-copies of your visuals together with your executive summary report will be submitted at the commencement of class on April 10, 2013.

Some of the broad subject areas that should be dealt with through these presentations include business ethics, corporate social responsibility, issues management, corporate governance, technological change, and environmental responsibility. Ideally, there will be a presentation on each of the following industries: big-pharmaceuticals, shipping, oil & gas, mining, forestry, consumer goods, retailing, and finance.

Once you have decided on an industry and 2 companies, please post your proposal on the Discussion Forum that has been set up in Moodle for the purpose. No duplication of companies covered is permitted. Industry duplication is permitted.

The assignment is worth 25% of your final grade, distributed as 15% for the Executive Summary Report and 10% for the Presentation. A peer evaluation will be factored into the grade for this assignment. It will be explained separately.
