This paper discusses the impact of the international transfer of embodied technological change on the employment evolution of skills in a sample of low and middle income countries (LMICs). A large body of literature has already underlined the occurrence of widening wage and employment differentials between skilled and unskilled workers in high-income countries (HICs) (Katz and Autor, 1999). Such empirical evidence is consistent with both trade- and technology-based explanations while these competing theoretical frameworks predict opposite effects on within- country inequality in LMICs. Recent analytical advancements have found convergent elements between these two lines of research, especially in the prediction of the employment impact of technology transfer. For last few decades, integration of supply chain management is emerging in view of various practices and theories. This paper examines the impact of supply chain integration (internal, supplier, and customer integration) on firm performance (competitive and financial). The research design of this empirical study was cross sectional which collected data from 267 managers working in manufacturing sector of Pakistan. Research hypotheses were tested by using correlation and regression analyses. Internal and supplier integration have shown positive impact on financial performance while a significant impact of customer integration was found on competitive performance. The study discussed research implications, limitations and future directions.

Purpose of the study: This research aims to understand the benefits and challenges of cloud and non-cloud adopter companies of production and service sectors on cloud computing and making recommendations based on companies’ perceptions of the issue in Izmir, Turkey.
Methodology: This is a descriptive survey of businesses, forming a questionnaire for 99 companies in the service sector and 66 companies in the production sector to non-cloud or cloud user businesses in the city of Izmir in Turkey. SPSS 26.0 software is used to analyze the perceived benefits and challenges of cloud computing.
Main Findings: The descriptive analysis results show that increasing productivity in business processes and working collaboratively from remote are the most important perceived benefits of adopting cloud computing in the production sector and service sector, respectively. On the other hand, business processes adoption issues and concerns about security are the significant perceived challenges and barriers of cloud computing adoption, respectively.
Applications of this study: The study is useful for governments to understand the critical points of cloud computing and is believed to give governments the ability to prepare an appropriate environment for businesses. Cloud providers and companies also take a position to contribute to this environment by creating new I.T. products and purchasing these I.T. products conforming to their I.T. needs, respectively.

Modern manufacturing organizations tend to face versatile challenges due to globalization, modern lifestyle trends and rapid market requirements from both locally and globally placed competitors. The organizations faces high stress from dual perspective namely enhancement in science and technology and development of modern strategies. In such an instance, organizations were in a need of using an effective decision making tool that chooses out optimal alternative that reduces time, complexity and highly simplified. This paper explores a usage of new multi criteria decision making tool known as MOORA for selecting the best alternatives by examining various case study. The study was covered up in two fold manner by comparing MOORA with other MCDM and MADM approaches to identify its advantage for selecting optimal alternative, followed by extending MOORA with interval grey numbers, crisp and interval grey number and whitening coefficient and future scope of the present work concentrate on highlighting the scope and gap between MOORA, Multiplicative form of MOORA(MULTIMOORA) and Multi objective optimization on the basis of simple ratio analysis (MOOSRA) for numerous manufacturing and service applications.

There is evidence that the notion of innovation, well established in the manufacturing sector, cannot simply be transposed to the service sector. This article deals critically with existing measurement concepts derived from manufacturing, and introduces a new typology with a view to obtaining a better understanding of innovation in services. Selected results from the German innovation survey are analysed in order to support the conceptual findings and to identify potential improvements. Special attention is directed towards the inclusion of knowledge-intensive business services that are of particular importance for innovation processes.

In recent years diplomatic and economic relations between China and many African countries have deepened. This has been driven largely by China's remarkable economic growth, which has increased demand for energy and commodities, thus encouraging trade and investment with different African countries. Additionally, China is playing a key role in the emerging challenge to the unequal architecture of global trade and governance, for which it seeks political allies. For Africa, the impacts of these deepening relationships are mixed. Rising commodity prices, direct investment, aid, and cheap consumer goods can be beneficial; but China also threatens to undercut local manufacturing sectors and compete for export markets, notably in textiles. China also has a history of support for authoritarian and corrupt regimes, and its (stated) insistence on non-interference in sovereign affairs may undermine more progressive efforts towards accountability, transparency, conflict reduction, and environmental and social protection. This paper explores how UK broadsheet newspapers represent China's complex relations in Africa, and in doing so, how they reflect on the West's own role(s) in Africa. The paper concludes by debating the importance of these media images at a time when China's rise is being anxiously observed by western publics and policy communities.

This article presents an analysis of the environmental impact of the materials and processes typically used in the wood based furniture manufacturing sector. Life cycle assessment methodology was applied to different kinds of wood based boards, surface and edge coverings, and their respective manufacturing processes. For each of these, a life cycle inventory was completed and the environmental impact generated was analysed by applying the Eco-Indicator’99 method.

Such organizations face problems while integrating the diversified ideology as senior employees give priority to job security & satisfaction whereas youngsters are satisfied with handsome salary & incentives for which they are ready to change their organizations. Similarly reward & motivational factors make them unique on the basis of their cohort. For example, Traditionalist, the silent generation is motivated by intrinsic reward whereas Baby boomers opt for both challenging task as well as top positions. Similarly, Gen-X prefers balanced work -life whereas Gen-Y, the tech savvy generation is motivated by work from home & knowledge sharing along with dignity. Finally Gen-Z the 5G who are more advanced in technology are motivated by heavy perks & instant rewards. It is an attempt to study & focus on basic factors influencing multi-generational workforce in manufacturing sector - what challenges manufacturing sector is facing while dealing with multi-generational workforce & strategies with the help of which the workforce will attain its goals & gain competitive advantage.

This paper econometrically examined the impact of manufacturing sector on economic growth in Nigeria from 1981 to 2015 using ordinary least square method. Based on the major findings, it was concluded that a significant  positive  relationship existsbetween  manufacturing  output  and  economic  growth  in  Nigeria. However, the most profound of the hazards faced in manufacturing sector are physical hazard, chemical hazard, and psychosocial hazard as revealed by the mean score result. It is therefore pertinent to suggest that employers should improve the dissemination of information to workers on safety matters toremind them of the importance of the safety measures for achieving a safe workplace. The government should intensify effort  at  improving  physical  infrastructure  notably inpower  supply  and  make  it  more  accessible  to manufacturers toreduce self-supply of electricity which brings huge operating cost.

The entire approach towards the development of the society is very scientific and well thought out. The paper attempts to explore Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) practices particularly in the context of NALCO (National Aluminum Company Ltd) a leading manufacturing Company in India. It also evaluates impacts of CSR initiatives taken by the company and its level of acceptance by the society. The methodology of the present study relied on the web-based research, review of print literature and visit to the selected sites to witness CSR practice. The paper concludes that social responsibility is regarded as an important business issue for today's manufacturing sector, irrespective of size, sector, and business goal. Therefore, CSR actions have positive impacts not only on development of society but also in their business. We try to reveal some lesson on CSR practices of the company which can provide guidance to corporate entities for better implementation of CSR activities.
