Not surprisingly, advocating good governance raises a host of questions about what needs to be done, when it needs to be done, and how it needs to be done.

The purpose of this study was to determine the different perceptions of Tacloban City residences in three (3) different barangays’ chosen based on a criteria set by the researcher on plastic waste distribution.

For this purpose, a survey questionnaire was made using a mixed method of: qualitative and quantitative design.  A Survey questionnaire was used to gather the quantitative data, while Focused Group Discussion (FGD) for qualitative data. Twenty-five (25) residents, five (5) from each barangay were the participants of the study.

Results of the survey showed among the twenty-five (25) participants that sixty-four point twenty-nine percent (64.29%) of the respondents were female and the remaining thirty-five point seventy-one percent (35.71%) were male. Half of the respondents were from the ages of  15-20 while the remaining fifty percent (50%)  belonged to the participants that exceeded the age twenty (20). Results revealed that the plastic most found littering the streets, clogging the canals, often being thrown out, always troublesome to transport, and often gives off a bad odor in the barangays are fifty percent (50%) plastic food packaging, plastic bag, and plastic wrappers. Other results revealed that the plastic the barangays find most useful and most used themselves are twenty percent (20%) plastic bottles and plastic containers. Some results tied in frequency those were the plastics that often piling up and are often found in the dumpsite, results also revealed they were ten percent (10%) plastic food packaging, plastic bag, and plastic wrappers and ten percent (10 %) plastic bottles and plastic containers. The last but not the least, the results reveal that the most used “single-use” plastics in the barangay are ten percent (10 %) plastic cups, plastic utensils, and plastic Styrofoam. Most problems for the participants were rooted from the trash being littered everywhere, coming at twenty-seven point twenty-seven percent (27.27%). Aside from that most effects mentioned due to the problem about forty-two point eighty-six percent (42.86%) was the flooding of their respective drains. To address their problems, forty percent (40%) thought to do segregation, but it is not as sustainable as they hope it would be, because of the lack of cooperation (9.09%) and discipline (18.18%) they fail to do the actual task.

Tourism is an important part of national economy. On the other hand it can also be a source of some negative externalities. These are mainly environmental externalities, resulting in increased pollution, aesthetic or architectural damages. High concentration of visitors may also lead to increased crime, or aggressiveness. These may have negative effects on quality of life of residents and negative experience of visitors. The paper deals with the influence of tourism on destination environment. It highlights the necessity of sustainable forms of tourism and activities to prevent negative implication of tourism, such as education activities and tourism monitoring.

environnements du quotidien et interactions sociales.

Pour les intellectuels et lexicographes officiant sous l’Ancien Régime, le peuple de France n’est alors pas un mais multiple. Au cœur de l’espace urbain, exclusion faite de la population mendiante et vagabonde, la partie tout à la fois la plus nombreuse et la moins bien considérée de ce peuple regroupe les travailleurs journaliers et sans qualification, ceux de la terre ou plus ou moins qualifiés mais non dépendants d’un cadre corporatif, la domesticité au sens large, les ouvriers de manufactures, les compagnons et garçons de métiers jurés ainsi que l’ensemble des chambrelans besognant en contravention aux statuts des jurandes. Cette population que nous identifions sous l’appellation « second peuple » se caractérise par une existence de ses membres majoritairement vécue dans la précarité quotidienne, une insertion plus ou moins bien définie et solide au sein de la société urbaine et une inscription en dehors de toute forme officielle d’organisation horizontale du travail. Une attention portée sur trois pans majeurs de l’existence du second peuple de la ville de Nantes au dernier siècle de la monarchie absolue, soit la vie en communauté, la consommation matérielle et l’activité laborieuse, est en mesure de dévoiler quelques-uns des traits essentiels des individus le constituant : place centrale de l’élément féminin, importance des notions de déplacement et d’implantation géographiques, force des connexions et solidarités de voisinage, rapport parfois houleux à l’autorité et frugalité de l’environnement matériel du quotidien.

The second people of Nantes in the XVIIIth century:
everyday environments and social interactions.

For the intellectuals and lexicographers officiating under the Ancien Regime, the people of France was then not one but many. At the heart of urban space, excluding the population of beggars and vagabonds, the at once most numerous and least well regarded part of this people groups together unqualified day laborers, those working on the land or more or less qualified but not dependent on a corporate framework, domestic workers in the broadest sense of the word, factory workers, journeymen and juniors in the legal profession and all “roomworkers” toiling in contravention of the statutes of the guilds. This population that we identify under the name of the “second people” is characterized by a life of its members mostly lived in everyday poverty, a more or less well defined and strong insertion in the heart of urban society and an entry without any official form of horizontal organization of work. A focus on three major segments of the existence of the second people of the city of Nantes in the last century of absolute monarchy, be it community life, material consumption or work activity, is able to reveal some essential features of the individuals which make it up: the central role of the feminine element, the importance of the concepts of travel and geographic location, the strength of connections and neighborhood solidarity, sometimes stormy relations with authority and the frugality of the material environment of daily life.

The literary journals during the Greek Occupation (1941-1944) have a special position in the history of Greek Literature, not only for the circumstances under which they came out in public but especially because of the new spirit they introduced at the literature of that period. From their pages the novelists and poets of the First Post-war Generation were born.
The subject of this thesis is a journal, Ksekinima, that had been published the last year of the Greek Occupation, 1944, form Thessaloniki’s Cultural Group of the Aristotle University. Placed in the group of the youth journals that were been publishing in that years, given that to his editors were young students of the Aristotle University of Thesssaloniki, Ksekinima possess a special significance for the city’s spiritual life as much as for the country’s. The purpose of that thesis is the promotion of his special place and his relation with the literary frame of that era.

It is hard to imagine tourism without the creative use of seductive as well as restrictive imaginaries about peoples and places. This article presents a conceptual framework for the study of tourism imaginaries and their diffusion. Where do such imaginaries originate, how and why are they circulated across the globe, and what kind of impact do they have on people’s lives? I discuss the multiple links between tourism and imagination, illustrating the overlapping but conflicting ways in which imaginings and fantasies drive tourists and tourism service providers alike. By applying this conceptual approach to international tourism in developing countries, I illustrate how the critical analysis of imaginaries offers a powerful deconstruction device of ideological, political, and sociocultural stereotypes and cliche´s.

The Indian banking system consists of public sector banks, nationalized banks, private sector banks, foreign owned banks, regional rural banks and cooperative banks. The world of HRM (HRM) is changing more rapidly. This article enlightened the banking activity which thrives on the strength of people power.

An attempt is made in this research paper to review the existing literature on the HRM practices of various Indian banks. Earlier research studies at the national level, state-level been examined to understand the HRM practices of the Indian banking industry. It was found that the HRM practices in the Indian banking industry have evolved over a period of time and the HRM practices of Indian banks are marginally getting better than earlier. Abstract:

This article, written for the Polygraph Journal, is a condensed compilation of a germinal study that provided current successful methods for obtaining confessions during interrogations. The foundation of the study derived from active-duty police detectives that illustrated methods they used to gain confessions from suspects in criminal cases. The study also provided a literature review of past practices of renowned interrogation techniques that collaborated with oral interviews with police investigators from selective east coast and west coast law enforcement agencies.

This case study examines the relationship between everyday religion and resource management by studying water resources in Darjeeling, India. It uses the notion and practice of chokho pani (pure and/or sacred water) as an interface between popular religious practices and the attempt to conserve water in Darjeeling township. Although the link between religion and environmental resource management is widely recognized, it remains a critical area of inquiry in the Himalaya. The complexity of water’s social importance is vividly evident in Darjeeling. The town presents a rapidly urbanizing landscape with a diversity of peoples dependent upon a variety of water resources, making it an important Himalayan site for the study of religion and environment.

In order to remain competitive in a rapidly-changing environment, it is critical for organisations to hire, retain, and utilise extraordinary employees. Unfortunately, many organisations have traditionally proved to have inadequate procedures in place to both identify these individuals and moreover fail to use them to their fullest potential if they are lucky enough to hire one. This paper defines a “game-changer” and describes their characteristics and how to recruit them. In addition, it explains the flaws in traditional talent management programmes for high achievement-potential hires and proposes novel ways to ensure that their potential is converted to organisational success.

Kara bodun ifadesinin en eski örnekleri eski Türk yazıtlarındadır. Eski Uygur ve Karahanlı Türkçesi metinlerinde de tanıklanan ifade, araştırmacılar tarafından farklı biçimlerde okunup anlamlandırılmıştır. Kara sözcüğünün burada sıfat olarak mı yoksa doğrudan bir ad olarak mı kullanıldığına yönelik çeşitli görüşler vardır. Bu farklı görüşler ışığında, kimi araştırmacılar ifadeye ‘avam, sıradan, basit halk’ anlamını yüklemiştir. Böylesi bir anlamlandırmayı destekleyecek dilsel malzemenin Eski Türkçenin söz varlığında bulunması ise oldukça şüphelidir. Yapılan bu çalışmada, kara ve bodun sözcükleri arasındaki yapısal ilişkinin ne olduğu sorununa çözüm aranacak ve ifadenin karşıladığı anlam açıklığa kavuşturulmaya çalışılacaktır. Şimdiye dek özellikle kara sözcüğünün kökeni ve karşıladığı anlamlar üzerine çeşitli araştırmalar yürütülmüştür. Çalışmada, yöntemsel açıdan öncelikle kara sözcüğü üzerinde durulacaktır. Ancak önceki çalışmaların tekrarına düşülmemesi adına, burada kara sözcüğü eski Türk yazıt ve el yazmalarının söz varlığında geçen tanıklamalarıyla yalnızca kara bodun ifadesini açıklamak açısından incelenecektir. Yazının devamında, kara bodun ifadesini açıklamakta önemli veriler sunması olası olan kara baş, kara égil bodun, kara kamag bodun, kara kamag sü ile kara suw ifadeleri ve bu ifadelerde geçen sözcükler üzerinde durulacaktır. Yazının son bölümünde ise kara bodun ifadesi üzerine yoğunlaşılacaktır.

The oldest examples of the kara bodun expression are in the old Turkic inscriptions. The expression, which is witnessed not only in the old Turkic inscriptions but also in the old Uyghur and Karakhanid Turkic texts, has been read and interpreted in different ways by the researchers. There are different opinions about whether the word kara is used here as an adjective or directly as a noun It is highly doubtful that linguistic material supporting such an interpretation exists in the vocabulary of old Turkic. In this study, a solution to the problem of the structural relationship between the words kara and bodun will be sought and the meaning of the expression will be clarified. Until now, various studies have been carried out especially on the origin of the word kara and its meanings. In the study, first of all, the word kara will be emphasized in terms of methodology. However, in order to avoid repetition of previous studies, the word kara will be examined here, with the testimonies of old Turkic inscriptions and manuscripts in the presence of vocabulary, only to explain the term kara bodun. In the rest of the article, the expressions of kara baş, kara égil bodun, kara kamag bodun, kara kamag sü and kara suw and the words used in these expressions will be examined. In the last part of the article, the expression of kara bodun will be focused on.

This study deals with the particularities of the city of Belém (PA), based on the relationship between constructed space and the local climate. It seeks to comprehend how the city, with its space configuration, behaves faced with the super-humid characteristics of an equatorial climate. In this sense, understanding this relationship is fundamental to seek solutions that diminish the thermal discomfort that the population faces daily. The methodology used in this study is of an analytical type. Thus, a survey of the general characteristics of the city was made, giving special attention to the climatic conditioners and their specific effect on three neighborhoods. The results show that the city does not offer its citizens the well-being one would expect in the existing climate, but it can be observed that the people are able to spontaneously adapt in search of comfort.

The present research is conducted to study the views of youngsters about the role of advertisement in district Muzaffarabad, Azad Kashmir. We took the sample of 200 by using stratified random sampling from total population consists of ten main colleges of District Muzaffarabad. For analysis, we have used the chi-square test of association, frequency distribution and graphical method. According to the survey, we came to know that females are attracted by the advertisements more as compared to the males. From the hypothesis testing we came to know that gender and female representation are associated. We intended to know while buying a product, which characteristic of a product is considered the most and we came out with the finding that most customers consider both the price and quality of a product while buying it from the market and mostly, television is used as mode of advertisement Azad Kashmir. The study reveals that if there is a representation of famous personality in ads, the people consider that product is reliable and expensive by using. A large number of people think that ads reflect our culture to some extent and common idea in a glamorous way and they consider ads an exaggeration.

Do the people have the political capacity to rule themselves, or do they need to be ruled by an elite for ‘the common good’? In order to clarify this question, I introduce two concepts: political agoraphobia and political agoraphilia. I begin by briefly explaining the tension between two attitudes toward the people: love and fear. I then systematically set out the arguments and counter-arguments on both sides of the controversy. The debate seems to end up in a rhetorical deadlock, since both the people and the elite may be seen as irrational, vulnerable to demagoguery, and factious. I therefore suggest that what is mainly at stake is not to demonstrate whether the people are to be trusted or not with regard to their political capacities. What is at stake, rather, is the recognition that this debate subsumes a fundamental political struggle between the desire for domination and the desire for egalitarian freedom, as well as the willingness to acknowledge the philosophical significance of democratic and popular political experiences.

The gradual shift from the selling to marketing vis-a-vis the customer orientation is quiet evident in present day hospital services. Hospitals become consumer centered and are expecting high medical care and demanding quality services at reasonable prices. Under these circumstances, age-old methods may not give us long run results. The application of modern marketing principles would pave avenues for rationalizing and standardizing the services. Thus marketing has become a new 'mantra' for the service providers in a hospital setting. Article evaluates the innovative marketing strategies adopted by corporate hospitals to sell their services and tries to explore the Marketing process explained with the help of 7P's i.e. Product, Price, Place, Promotion, People, Physical evidence and Process in sample hospitals which run under different corporate managements. For this purpose it is proposed to elicit the perceptions from the doctors, nursing staff and administrative staff on marketing mix of hospitals. The data was analyzed by applying different statistical tools to know whether the perceptions of respondents are indistinguishable or not. An article by Smith [1] argues that a panoramic, or holistic, approach to new service development and a high level of precision at the micro level, will combine to provide a more successful service design and new service development process. Michael R. Bowers (1987)[2] proposes that hospitals should facilitate market-driven service development. G.M. Naidu et.al (1993)[3] and Burger(1991)[4] examines the result of the study on product-line management (PLM) as management tool on health care industry. Farley (1990)[5] opine that Hospitals may be able to reduce their costs by limiting the breadth of services they provide. Ronald (1993)[6] discussed relationship between quality and profitability. The authors studied each hospital to determine the relationship between quality and profit levels on one hand and price, occupancy levels, and costs per patient on the other. The Zabbaleen is a word which literally means "garbage people" in Egyptian Arabic. The contemporary use of the word in Egyptian Arabic is to mean "garbage collectors". In cultural contexts, the word refers to teenagers and adults who have served as Cairo's informal garbage collectors since approximately the 1940s. The Zabbaleen are also known as Zarraba (singular: Zarrab), which means "pig-pen operators." The word Zabbalīn came from the Egyptian Arabic word zebāla which means "garbage".

Spread out among seven different settlements scattered in the Greater Cairo Urban Region, the Zabbaleen population is between 50,000 and 70,000. The largest settlement is Mokattam village, nicknamed as "Garbage City," located at the foot of the Mokattam Mountains, next to Manshiyat Naser. The Zabbaleen community in Mokattam Village has a population of around 20,000 to 30,000, over 90 percent of which are Coptic Christians.

In this presentation, A brief introduction to Zabbaleens is presented and how they manage to keep themselves efficient within less than imaginable resources and manages to recycle 75-80% more garbage than bigger (western) & finincail companies. And, also how Zabbaleen's method could be implemented in India to reduce as well as recycle garbage with an efficient means of resources and money usage.

If we engineered systems like we produce movies, would our enterprise and endeavors prove leaner and more agile? We daydream on the greener pastures of movie making, an industry whose signature practices were born out of necessity, to adapt to major regulatory upheavals in the 30’s Hollywood, and have since proved remarkably effective & resilient. We journey through odd ways of tackling strangely familiar problems, subtly different organizational patterns, and seemingly unreasonable, yet strikingly efficient practices. Could we gain some insights or fresh ideas, to renew and better up our own ‘complex system engineering’ practices?

In this paper the relationship that exists between the concepts of «happiness» and «creativity» with «subjective wellbeing» is analyzed. The importance of these elements is reviewed to confirm the positive relationship that is supposed to exist between them and in this way to propose organizational development strategies. The goals to achieve are to find the correlation between the variables in the local environment. To this end, a questionnaire is applied, and 249 responses are obtained, this instrument includes questions for each of the variables under study and have been obtained from a sample of a population of university students and graduates former students of management degrees in the city of Tijuana, BC, Mexico. Results confirm that the variables «happiness» and «subjective wellbeing» and the variables «creativity» and «subjective wellbeing» have a high mutual relationship based on the results in Pearson’s correlation analysis, in the analysis of variance and in the regression equation model. It reaches to the conclusion of the importance of applied strategies for the development of the human element in organizations based on the implementation of actions that promote creativity and increase perception of happiness to influence the development of subjective well-being in individuals and organizations from collaboration networks and organizational tools.

Recovery is a multidimensional concept, including symptomatic, functional, social, as well as personal recovery. The present study aims at exploring psychosocial and biological determinants of personal recovery, and disentangling time-dependent relationships between personal recovery and the other domains of recovery in a sample of people with a psychotic disorder. A cohort study is conducted with a 10-year follow-up. Personal recovery is assessed using the Recovering Quality of Life Questionnaire (ReQoL) and the Individual Recovery Outcomes Counter (I.ROC). Other domains of recovery are assessed by the Positive and Negative Symptom Scale Remission (PANSS-R), the BRIEF-A and the Social Role Participation Questionnaire—Short version (SRPQ) to assess symptomatic, functional and societal recovery, respectively. The psychological correlates of utilitarian choices in sacrificial moral dilemmas are contentious. In the literature, some research (Greene, et al., 2001) suggested that utilitarianism requires analytic thinking while other research (Kahane et al., 2015) showed that utilitarianism is correlated with psychopathy. In the present research, we looked at the relation of several normative views with analytic cognitive style (ACS), psychopathy and real-world utilitarianism in three Turkish samples. In Study 1 (n = 269), we used four ethical dilemmas and asked participants to select one normative principle as the grounds for their judgment in the dilemma: fatalism, virtue ethics, utilitarianism, deontology and amoralism. The results showed that the majority selected the deontological principle. Additionally, there was a considerable amount of fatalistic and virtue ethical justifications. The Web is a communication and information technology that is often used for the distribution and retrieval of personal information. Many people and organizations mount Web sites containing large amounts of information on individuals, particularly about celebrities. However, limited studies have examined how people search for information on other people, using personal names, via Web search engines. Explores the nature of personal name searching on Web search engines. The specific research questions addressed in the study are: "Do personal names form a major part of queries to Web search engines?"; "What are the characteristics of personal name Web searching?"; and "How effective is personal name Web searching?". Random samples of queries from two Web search engines were analyzed. The findings show that: personal name searching is a common but not a major part of Web searching with few people seeking information on celebrities via Web search engines; few personal name queries include double quotations or additional identifying terms; and name searches on Alta Vista included more advanced search features relative to those on AlltheWeb.com. Discusses the implications of the findings for Web searching and search engines, and further research.

This case study examines the relationship between everyday religion and resource management by studying water resources in Darjeeling, India. It uses the notion and practice of chokho pani (pure and/or sacred water) as an interface between popular religious practices and the attempt to conserve water in Darjeeling township. Although the link between religion and environmental resource management is widely recognized, it remains a critical area of inquiry in the Himalaya. The complexity of water's social importance is vividly evident in Darjeeling. The town presents a rapidly urbanizing landscape with a diversity of peoples dependent upon a variety of water resources, making it an important Himalayan site for the study of religion and environment.

Ovládáni jsou ale nejen svéprávní dospělí lidé, nýbrž také děti, lidé v kómatu nebo lidé s mentálním postižením. Jak ti vládnou? Nabízím odpověď, podle níž má vládnutí dvě složky, a to kontrolu a vliv. Kontrolou vládnou jen ti, co jí jsou schopni, tedy svéprávní dospělí. Vlivem ale vládnou a musí vládnout všichni.
