Ninja Star Sugar Cookies!

Ninja Star Sugar Cookies! Perfect for a Ninja Party! Let's get started! Whip up some sugar cookies. These ones are good and don't change shape when cooked. Perfect for cut-out cookies! 2 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for rolling   1/2 teaspoon baking powder   1/4 teaspoon salt   1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, room temperature   1 cup granulated sugar   1 large egg   1 teaspoon vanilla extract Mix, separate into 2 balls...press into disks...and place in a zip close bag  and set in the fridge for 2 hours...or the freezer for about 20 minutes. Then remove, roll out on floured surface and bake 325 for about 12 minutes. Place the cookies directly on the mat, that fits in your baking sheet... and bake...mine needed 11 minutes. Just when the edges are crispy. You could do less and have a chewier cookie, if that's your thing. Let them cool completel...

Ninja Headbands!

Ninja Headbands! The perfect craft for a fabulous Ninja Party! It's absolutely low-budget friendly too! We've all seen parties where each kid gets a Karate uniform to take home, but they are $30 each. Our tactic was to have the kids come wearing black "ninja" clothes... Then decorate a headband!  I used some scrap fabric, like a bed sheet and cut a notch and then ripped it into long strips. They are 2.5 inches wide and about 36-40 inches long.  All the kids at the ninja party got to decorate their own! Using Sharpies and Tulip Dual-Tip Fabric Markers!  We had paper on the table in case the markers bleed through the cloth...  There were no rules, just lots of fun!  There was even a chicken!  This serves as a great arriving party craft--as kids arrive, have them start making their headband!  Even the adults got involved!  And the Birthday Boy himself!  It was a perfect success! Come back tomorrow...
