Star Wars BB8 Shrinky Dink Bow!

Star Wars BB8 Shrinky Dink Bow! This is so geek chic! Who doesn't love sci-fi and shabby chic bows together? I am sure you know many people who are going to need this bow. My daughter designed this lovely cartoony rendering of a very lovable astromech droid. Purchase the file for $5 here for your use too! (if the link doesn't show up, it's on my sidebar too!) I printed out the cute design on some ink jet shrink plastic   Then I cut out the images and baked them in the oven. Set oven to 350* and let heat up. Place them in oven, they will curl up and then shrink and flatten out. It takes about 1-5 minutes...so keep watching them! Next, I used 38" of silver chevron 1.5 inch ribbon 36" of orange 5/8 inch ribbon 1 gray marabou puff and 1 gray shabby chic flower Wrap the ribbon so it looks like this. Then gather up the center of ribbon. Squeeze tight and wrap the center with heavy duty thread about 20 times. Then tie it off...

Kanzashi Snowflake Hairbow and Shabby Christmas Headbands!

 Kanzashi Snowflake Hairbow and Shabby Christmas Headbands! ~ My friend made me the most gorgeous hair bows for Christmas last year! She knows I am crafty and so she was dedicated to making me something wonderful and handmade...she totally won Christmas gift giving with these beautiful hair pieces!   I decided I must learn how to make them!  You will need:  6 squares of 2.5" Blue Satin Ribbon 6 squares of 2" White Satin Ribbon  6 squares of 1.5" Blue Satin Ribbon 18 squares of 1.5" White Satin Ribbon Hot glue/gun Needle and thread Center piece 2 Felt circle backing pieces 1 hair clip of choice (the width of the ribbon is up to you...the larger the width,  the larger the project...just cut the pieces square)  Begin with a square piece of ribbon. Lightly burn the cut edges with a lighter to prevent fraying. Hot glue and fold in half to make a triangle. Hot glue and fold in half again! Hot glue and fold in half o...

Star Wars R2D2 Boutique Bow! Happy May the 4th!

 Star Wars R2D2 Boutique Bow! Celebrate May the 4th with Star Wars Accessories! May the 4th be with you!...and look out for Revenge of the 5th! Here's a great bow to show you're geek chic! Fill up a silicone mold with hot glue... (Don't have a mold???  Make your own tutorial here! ) Or pick up the Star Wars Mold here:  Let it cool completely... Then pop it out of the mold...Perfectly formed! Spray paint, then add details with acrylic paint! Zig zag some ribbon like an accordion...so there are 4 loops...2 on each side.  Pinch and gather the ribbon in the center. Pinch and hold in place. Use some thread and wrap the center about 10 times around. Then tie it off tight and cut the thread.  Now it looks kind of smooshed. Take some time to mold it into a pretty shape!  Like this!  Cut the tails with a v-notch. This will help prevent fraying... Use a lighter to melt the ends to prevent frays.  ...
