Faithful Fourth Graders

CAJ: Equipping students to impact the world for Christ


Language Arts:
This weeks spelling words have long /o/ sounds: flow, grove, throw, over, shown, groan, cocoa, hollow, narrow, coach, window, bowl, shadow, elbow, though. Please encourage your child to practice their spelling words on spellingcity.com. The students are required to write 5 entries every two weeks in their Writers Notebook, and this week Friday is their next due date. Some students will bring their notebooks home if they dont have any entries yet.

Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

Units:
This week each group will have a chance to present about their industries to the class. We will also review for the test on Japan.

Days to Remember:
10/11 Parents in Prayer (8:30-9:30 in the PTA room) 10/11 Singing chapel at 8:30 in the Auditorium 10/12 Test on Japan 10/12 Spelling test 10/19 Memory work test 2 Peter 1:20-21 10/19 Thrift Shop (students dismissed at 12:00) Wear pink! On October 12, the volleyball team will have their "DIG PINK" game to support breast cancer awareness. Whether the kids come to the game or not, we'd like to encourage everyone in our community to wear pink that day to show our support for breast cancer victims, their friends and family and towards continued research to find a cure for this disease.

Math:
The next unit is Unit 3 Multiplication & Division: Number Sentences & Algebra. Students will practice multiplication/division facts table and solve sentence problems.
Students will cut out multiplication/division fact triangles and take them home. Please help them to practice those facts at home, too.

Bible:
We will learn about the writing systems in Mesopotamia and in Egypt. Memory work: 2 Peter 1:20-21
