Introduction
This procedure contains the minimum standards required for trains to enter and/or remain in service. It excludes M sets.
General
As soon as practicable, give information on any condition not meeting these standards to:
the Running Supervisor when in Maintenance Centres Mechanical Control when in Out Depots or in service.
NOTE At Out Depots and in service, compile and submit a train status report.
NOTE Advise Mechanical Control means: Mechanical Control will arrange to have the problem rectified.

NOTE NOTE No InterCity passenger train is to depart Sydney Terminal into service with a defective vigilance control (VC) system in the leading or trailing cab. Each emergency equipment box must contain one (1) canister of twelve (12) detonators, one (1) track-circuit shorting clip, two (2) red flags without handles and one (1) green flag without a handle. If the seal on a box is broken or missing, the Driver and Guard must make sure the above equipment is available.
