DCP Interface
The DCP (Drive Control and Position) interface serves for the communication in between the
FST controller and the frequency inverter. By a data telegram with the content of 5 byte the
travelling signals from the controller (Master) are transferred via a serial RS485 interface to
the frequency inverter (Slave). The incoming telegrams need to be answered by the
frequency inverter within a set timeout function, as otherwise the DCP interface goes on
fault. An additional communication data channel, being secondary to the DCP protocol,
allows communication from the FST controller to the frequency inverter. As soon as the
change-over switch on the FST controller has been turned, or by selection of the „regulator
menu“ within the FST drive menu, the FST controller shows an emulation of the display and
keypad of the frequency inverter. Thus working on the parameters of the frequency inverter
is possible from the FST controller, as if working on the frequency inverter itself.
From inside the cabin working is possible by means of the position indicators EAZ-LC/VFD
with infrared receiver in combination to the infrared remote control unit FST-ISR or by means
the hand terminal HHT. With the hand terminal HHT, communication is possible with both the
frequency inverter and the FST controller via any interface of the FST controller’s LON-bus,
e.g. from the cabin roof.
Thus an adaptation of the required drive performance is possible in a comfortable way from
inside the cabin. Unlimited communication with the frequency inverter and the FST controller
can happen also by means remote data transmission via an additional modem being
connected to the FST controller and the LMS software.
