Recently, clients reported jerking when lifts with GMV hydraulic units started. This was caused by the VMP valve opening too early, before the star-delta switching time cleared it. To avoid this starting jerk, the star-delta time delay needs to be set to 1.5-2 seconds via the menu in the KST control unit under the "Service" chapter and entering the star-delta time keyword. Adjusting this timing parameter prevents the VMP valve from opening prematurely during lift startup.

Reference: Starting Jerk with Hydraulik Unit GMV Von: WOE

Recently we have had a number of call backs from clients in respect of a jerk while
the lift was starting, for such lifts being fitted with hydraulic units of GMV. This
happens in case that the VMP valve open too early. This means that the star-delta
time is switching clear the VMP valve.

Value of star-delta time :


about. 0,5 sec.

Starting time of soft starter:


about 1,0 sec.

In order to avoid the staring jerk, the star-delta time delay must be set to about
1,5-2,0 sec. This is done via the menu in the KST under the chapter „Service“
entering the key word ‫– ∆ ٭‬time.
