LEARNING OBJECTIVES

M At the end of the lesson, most pupils will be able to write about their favourite toy with support.

At the end of the lesson, most pupils will be able to talk about their favourite toy, colour and number with
C support.
1. Say I can see something in this room. It’s (red).
I. PRE-LESSON 2. Pupils take turns to guess.
3. Repeat with the other colours
1. Activity 1:
Tell pupils to look carefully at the two monsters and the two cars. Read the four
names aloud. Make sure pupils know what to do. Distribute worksheet 1. Read the
instructions aloud. Tell pupils to write just the first letter of the names. Play the
recording through once without stopping. Pupils compare their ideas in pairs. Play the
recording again. This time pupils cut and paste the names. Check with the class.

II. LESSON 2. Activity 2:


DEVELOPMENT Write focus language on the board. Demonstrate the activity. Practise a few times
with the pupils. Pupils work in pairs. Give pupils thinking time to prepare their ideas.
Pupils take turns to ask and answer in pairs. Check and give further practice in open
pairs. Pupils may use speaking cards if necessary. Monitor and help.
3. Activity 3:
Read the text to the class. Elicit from some pupils what their favourite toys are.
Remind them to use adjectives. Pupils draw a picture of their favourite toy and write
about it on paper using the model given (if necessary). Check pupils’ descriptions
before they write a final version next to their picture.
1. Display pupils work and conduct gallery walk.
III. POST LESSON 2. Encourage pupils to give feedback/comment on their friends' work using sticky notes.
3. Invite volunteers to read out what they have written if you have more time available.
