2 Feed Sample Labs

All feed ingredient samples are distributed to one of these feed sample labs. Our
lab techs analyze our grain samples for Micron size and send complete feed and
ingredient samples to be further analyzed by other certified laboratories.
Feed Safety & Quality
Assurance Department
Cooperative Farmers Elevator’s Feed Safety and Quality Assurance Department
is made up of a continuous working team of employees. It is led by the Feed Safety
Director who has two Quality Assurance Lab Techs and a VFD/Liquid Feed Manager. The
HACCP Team plays a big role in the decision making process for our Quality Management
System Program. The HACCP Team (made up of a representative from each feed mill)
meets throughout the year making key decisions on how we can enhance our Company’s
procedures and values for our customers. This department has strong support from
the CEO, VP of Feed, and Feed Operations Manager along with other management staff.
CFE is committed to being engaged in our customer’s requests, values, and service to
bring forth the best quality product possible to them. Having our feed and ingredients
analyzed continuously allows us to verify the quality and degree for which we want to
supply to the people we value the most, our customers.

What is HACCP? It stands for Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points.

HACCP

What does this mean? Falling under a HACCP Program states that CFE is
evaluating risk management and safety measures with all feed elements.
This is to include but not limited to the health and safety of our end users
along with our own employees. Every year the CFE feed mills are audited by
a 3rd party (SGS). This ensures our continued dedication to our customers.

We conduct yearly Feed Safety and Quality Assurance training to all

TRAINING
our feed employees. We currently have forty-five SOPs that are covered
during these training sessions. The CGMPs (SOP 513) stands as the
backbone for how CFE conducts and operates its Feed Safety and Quality
Assurance Department. This SOP provides the foundation for the feed
agricultural industry. Our day to day goal is to have each feed and grain
employee understand their role in the implementation of the FDA and FSMA
Regulations.

APPROVED SUPPLIER/SHIPPER
Through our Approved Supplier/Shipper Program, we verify who our
incoming or outgoing vendors are and have them state they will not haul
any prohibited product while under contract with CFE. This mitigates the
potential risk of a supplier/shipper introducing a prohibited product into
our facilities. Below is the list of prohibited products not allowed in CFE
facilities:

PEST CONTROL
CFE works hand in hand with Presto X to ensure controllability of
unwanted pests in our facilities. We utilize an Integrated Pest Control
Program. Through this our ultimate goal is to minimize pest activity. We
have continuous employee checks, monthly inspections by the Feed Safety
Director, and monthly inspections by Presto X to provide our customers with
the most rodent free locations possible.

As of June 20, 2016, CFE has three locations (Hartley,

RACTOPAMINE FREE

Ocheyedan, & Paullina) that are now labeled as Ractopamine Free Feed
Mills. Due to the ever increasing demand of our customers who sell their
livestock to a Ractopamine Free market, we as a company, have adapted
to the industry and marketed three of our feed mills to guarantee their
livestock will be Ractopamine Free. This product will not be located in
feed mills or utilized warehouses. The feed delivery vehicles utilized at
the three designated Ractopamine locations will only haul from these
sites and will not be used at any other feed mill. This is to ensure the
quality of the customer’s end product. If you’re wanting your livestock to
be Ractopamine Free, CFE has a policy in place that will have you sign a
contract acknowledging your intentions to do so.
Those customers that wish to still use Ractopamine (Paylean) may
do so at any of our four other feed mills (George, Rock Valley, Alvord, and
Hudson).

The FDA has now mandated that each feed industry company must
PCQI

have a PCQI (Preventative Control Qualified Individual) person on staff. This

individual shall complete the training put out by the FDA. Our Feed Safety
Director is a PCQI and will become a Lead Instructor, therefore offering to
our customers a chance to become PCQI themselves if they are interested.
