EXPOSITION

- To begin the story, the seventeen-year-old Dodong rushes home as fast as he can,
thinking about how to break the news to his father about his plans to marry Teang.

RISING ACTION
- Dodong was frightened to go home because he wanted to get out of it for no
apparent reason. He was terrified because it appeared to imprison him, as well as
Teang, who was giving birth in the house. It was, after all, Teang and Dodong's
first kid. He began to question irrationally if delivery was indeed painful. When
Dodong realized what he had done, he felt a bit uncomfortable because he was
ashamed of his youth.

CLIMAX
- Dodong witnessed his newborn child with his wife in the papag at that point. He
was taken aback when his baby's screams reached his ears. He couldn't suppress his
delight as it surged within him. Finally, Dodong wanted to touch the child and give
him the sense of his father's touch.

FALLING ACTION
- As a young woman, Teang resented getting married so soon in her life. Then Teang
pondered whether or not it would be the same if he were married to Lucio. If she
had the same life as she has now. Dodong, on the other hand, was well aware of the
difficulties of marrying at a young age.

DENOUEMENT
- Blas, who was 18 at the time, wanted Tona to marry him. No one objected to Blas
being married, even though Dodong didn't want Blas to end up like him. In fact, he
attempted to make Blas think twice before getting married, out of fear that Blas
might end up like him.

QUESTIONS:
1.) To warn young people that the mistakes they make in their youth may have a
profound impact on their life, "The Footnote to Youth" was chosen as the story's
title. This story has fulfilled its goal, which was to remind young people to be
cautious when making decisions and to listen to their parents because they know
what's best for them. Which Dodong, Teang, and Blas did not do, leading to them
having regrets in life for making such rash judgments without considering the
consequences. If only Dodong had acknowledged his father's silence, he would not
have had to face life's difficulties so young and might have enjoyed his youth. And
if he had just done his hardest to warn Blas and not allowed him to marry at such a
young age like him, he might not have followed in his footsteps.

5.) If I'm Dodong's father, I won't let him marry at such an early age, even though
I know he'll disagree with me and dislike me. Instead of seeing him suffer because
I didn't guide him properly or didn't fulfill my role as his parent, it is
preferable to have him resent me for the decisions that are beneficial for him. If
I do this, he might learn that there is more to life than love, that life is more
than just a feeling or a last-minute decision. Then perhaps he'll appreciate me
eventually for what I've done to him. He'll have accomplished his life goals and be
living a comfortable life by then.
