    Lesson Plan in Teaching Social Studies in Primary Grades

    I. Objectives
    At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:
    1. Know Bonifacio
    2. Gain knowledge on his role on the Revolution
    3. Appreciate his contribution to the Philippine Freedom

    II. Content
    a. Subject Matter

    c. Materials
    - Hand outs, chalk board, laptop, projector,

    III. Procedure
    a. Routine Activity
    -Classroom Management
    -Opening Prayer
    -Checking of Attendance
    -Past Lesson Review

    Motivation:
    The teacher would show a picture of different Philippine Heroes and would ask
    the students to identify each of them and to cite their contributions to the Philippines.

    Presentation of the Lesson:


    The teacher would asked them if they have heard of Andres Bonifacio. Their
    prior knowledge is needed because the teacher would elicit insights about the man.

    Discussion:
    The teacher would then proceed to discuss the following:

    At the battle of Limbon, Bonifacio and his men lost the fight and were taken prisoner.
    The Revolutionary government tried Bonifacio and his brother Procopio by military
    court martial at Maragondon on May 5, 1987. The court martial found the Bonifacio
    brother’s guilty of sedition, and sentenced to die. President Aguinaldo reduced their
    death penalty to life imprisonment but was pressured to cancel that order due to
    protest by other revolutionary leaders for there could only be one leader in the
    revolution. So, on May 10, 1987, Andres and Procopio were shot by a squad under the
    command of Major Lazaro Makapagal at Mount Buntis, near Maragondon.
    Generalization

    The teacher will divide the students into 4 groups and they would be asked to
    research the contributions of Bonifacio in the revolution. After which, a representative
    would discuss their findings in class.

    Evaluation

    The teacher would ask the students to write a Reflection paper on the Life of
    Bonifacio. 200 words would suffice.

    Assignment

    The teacher would ask the students to research about the execution of Rizal and
    the Martyrs.
