Objectives:
After three years of implementation of community organizing participatory action research in
Sitio Katarawan, Barangay Bangan, Sanchez Mira, Cagayan
General Objectives:
1. The community people will be able to know the risk of not adhering to proper
hygiene and sanitation practices.
2. The community will be able to successfully adapt with flexible activities that will
boost a clean-safe hygiene and sanitation
3. The community people will be able to practice and maintain good hygiene and proper
sanitation in their respective homes and in their community as well.
4. The community will be organized and ready to have a higher ground in developing
the community, leading to a healthier and safer sanitation.
Specific Objectives:
1. Assess the knowledge and the healthcare status and system of the community if it
needs more necessary adjustments and additions
2. Educate the people in the community about proper hygiene and environmental
sanitation for them to be more aware on their current situation and for them to be able
to know the importance of a healthy sanitation and its effects on their well-being and
on their community.

3. Discuss the importance of healthcare programs to the people of the community and
how much it affects them
4. Demonstrate ways that they can adapt to promote good hygiene and proper
environmental sanitation
5. The community people will be able to practice and maintain good hygiene and proper
sanitation in their respective homes and in their community as well.
6. Help the people in the community in facilitating activities that will develop the
community and their premises
7. Implement and effectively enforce activities and programs that will help the
community people to maintain a good hygiene and environmental sanitation
8. Ensure an effective and proper implementation of health teachings
9. Encourage the community people to practice good hygiene and keep their
environment clean and safe.
10. Encourage the team leaders to be more efficient and show efforts in making the
community safe and healthy
11. Provide the members of the community of what they need and equip them with
knowledge and learnings regarding the importance of Hygiene and Environmental
Sanitation to promote the health of the community, to improve the quality of their
well-being, and their quality of life.
Introduction
Sanchez Mira is composed of 18 barangays. It is where we decided as a group to choose a

community that we can focus on, we chose Sitio Katarawan, along Barangay Bangan, Sanchez Mira,
Cagayan. The said Sitio is more on populated by Indigenous Individuals, and it is composed of 89
households with a total population of 334 individuals. Most individuals in the community displays a
problem regarding on their Sanitation, specifically poor hygiene and environmental sanitation which
causes the individuals, especially the young children to be more vulnerable of illnesses.
In connection with the problem of Sitio Katarawan, as a group we have come up with a three-
year span plan which is a program that focuses on the awareness of the community people regarding on
the importance of having a clean-safe sanitation which will lead people in the community to be more
encouraged to strengthen and promote a healthier sanitation. Aside from that, in this plan we have come
up with a solution which corresponds with the problems that are occurring in Sitio Katarawan. Using the
COPAR’s Method, as a group we have conducted background research on Sitio Katarawan with the help
and permission from the Municpality and Barangay. The Barangay Officials that covers the sector of
Sitio Katarawan and the community people of the said Sitio is going to be our partners to establish our
goals and objectives.
Good cooperation, camaraderie and respect are needed to establish the goals of this plan, and to
make it work for a longer period of time.
