Speaker: Shalom and Mabuhay to each and every one with us here today!

I am Genesis Lawan, your host

for this event. ‘Tis such a splendid day to celebrate our Filipino Elderly Week Celebration with the theme
“Older Persons: Resilience in Nation Building – Kalig-on sa Pagtukod sa Nasud”.
: Did you know that the Elderly Filipino Week Celebration is observed every first week of October in
accordance with Proclamation No. 470 signed by former President Fidel V. Ramos on September 26,
1994? The nationwide celebration highlights the significant role of senior citizens’ sector in nation-
building and in advocating for the promotion of their rights and welfare. The EFW celebration is
spearheaded by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), in partnership with other
government agencies, non-government organizations, and the private sector.

: to formally start our program, may I request a moment of peace and silence as we center ourselves in
prayer accompanied with a multimedia and to remain standing as the invocation is to be followed by our
national anthem.

: facts about our elders: they have informative tales. We could listen to older patrons tell tales about
their lives without ever getting bored. The elderlies are authentic and honest and it is a joy spending
time with them. To kick start this program, allow me to call up on stage Mr. Agapito Sumaoy to give
recognition of all our lovely participants. A round of applause please.

:it is indeed with great honor and pleasure to welcome ______ participants, _________ honorable
officers, guests, staff, faculty, ladies and gentlemen, good morning. In the light of this marvelous event,
allow me to introduce to you our ever passionate and kind-hearted speaker to impart to us his
welcoming message. Let’s give him a round of applause as we call on stage the SCA President-Poblacion:
Paz Jaluag. A round of applause please.

: thank you for such warm and heartfelt words, Hon. Paz Jaluag. Surely, everyone of us here have greatly
felt welcomed and ready to hear more of today’s speakers.

: another fun fact about elders is that “the elderly have wisdom from experience.” They have knowledge
of life and values since they have lived through so much more. We can learn so much from the wisdom
they have. With everyone here agreeing, please help me welcome on stage our beloved Chairman
Committee on Senior Citizen – Hon, Violeta G. Dano, as she imparts to us the rationale and core of
today’s activity. A round of applause please.

: It is believed that older Filipinos are essential members of society who need help and protection in
order to live productive and happy lives. For fact number 3: elders love without conditions. They adore
you wholeheartedly because of their wonderful souls. It is refreshing spending time with such loving
people. in an effort to honor their vital role, I present to you the Senior Citizen’s March.

: according to a quote, “those who respect the elderly, pave their own road towards success.” Shall we
have a hoorah for that? With that, please help me welcome on stage our beloved speaker whom has not
come unprepared as she has surely crafted bountiful words of inspiration for us to day. Let us fill the
stage with applause and cheers. once again, a round of applause for our Municipal Vice Mayor – Hon.
Marietta T. Sumaylo.

: our biggest thanks and applause to our Honorable Vice Mayor, Hon, Marietta Sumaylo. I am quite sure
that each one has been heartfully touched by your message. Once again, thank you.

: to introduce our next speaker, allow me to quote a beautiful quotation with a twist that states “With
old age, comes great wisdom and power.” Alright, moving on to our next speaker is our ever-supportive,
compassionate, and loving Municipal Mayor Hon. Roman B. Bullen to impart to us his message for our
dearly beloved elders. Let us fill the stage with applause and cheers. once again, a round of applause for
our Municipal Mayor Honorable Roman B. Bullen.

: thank you for such warm and heartfelt words, Hon. Roman Buffen. Surely, everyone of us here have
greatly loved and touched by your message. Once again, thank you.

: a whole lot of messages, I believe we deserve an ice breaker. Let’s do some chicken dance!
: alright, I think everyone is now energized and wiggly. Thank you for your participation everyone.
Before we end this session, let’s have our last speaker whom we’d all be eager to hear as she/he imparts
to us the wellness of a healthy lifestyle. Without any further ado, help me welcome on-stage
_____________ A round of applause please.

: And that ends the part one of today’s program. I am pretty sure that we have been well-informed and
now knowledgeable of the essentiality of our dearly beloved elders. Before we proceed to the next part
of this program, let us first have break, eat our lunches, and enjoy a good noon rest. Please be reminded
that our program does not end here, we still have another part of the program which consists of the
simultaneous activity on free medical check-up, covid vaccination, hair cutting, manicure, massage,
singing, games, and presentation of the SCA Brochure, and of course a closing remarks to formally close
this program in a little while. Once again, happy lunch and bon appetite!

: at this juncture, I believe that every one has their tummies filled and brains refresh. So I guess we are
now ready and energized to have one last activity – simultaneous activity on free medical check-up,
covid vaccination, hair cutting, manicure, massage, singing, games, and presentation of the SCA
Brochure. Reminder for everyone to please ________________________________________________. I
will now give the floor to the OSCA ELECTION to take place, headed by our facilitator, Ms./Mrs. Eden
Grace Casuga, RSW. Thank you.

giving this celebration a share of your time. As to formally end this program, may I call on stage DFSCA
President Mr. Cristobala Bullandan to bid us his closing remarks.

: thank you, Sir Bullandan. Once again, ladies and gentlemen, it is of great pride and honor to have done
this celebration with you all -- the 44th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week with the
theme, “Filipino Elderly Week Celebration with the theme “Older Persons: Resilience in Nation Building

quote of Stanislaw Jerzy Lec,” Youth is the gift of nature, but Age is a work of art.” Thank you and God
bless!
