Lesson plan is a teaching outline of the important point of a lesson arranged in order in
which they are to be presented; It may include objectives, points to be made, points to
be ask, reference to materials, assignments etc.
DIFFERENT TYPES OF A LESSON PLAN
DETAILED LESSON PLAN
It provides mastery of what to teach, and gives the teacher the confidence
when teaching. In this plan, both teacher’s and students’ activities are
presented.
SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN
The 5E learning cycle model requires instruction to include the following discrete
elements: engage, explore, explain, elaborate, and evaluate. The proposed 7E model
expands the engage element into two components—elicit and engage.
It typically includes the goal (what students need to learn), how the goal will be
achieved (the method of delivery and procedure) and a way to measure how well the
students comprehend the topic.
It also aims to give understanding to what the learner’s prior knowledge and give
idea what will be learning through the activity that will be presented.
DIFFERENT TYPES OF A LESSON PLAN
Daily Lesson Log (DLL) is a template teachers use to log parts of their
daily lesson. The DLL covers a day's or a week's worth of lessons and
contains the following parts: Objectives, Content, Learning Resources,
Procedures, Remarks and Reflection.
COMPONENTS OF 5E/7E LESSON PLAN:
TOPIC
GRADE LEVEL
TIME ALLOTMENT
DATE AND TIME
LEARNING COMPETENCIES:
• General Objectives
• Unpacked/Specific Objectives
COMPONENTS OF 5E/7E LESSON PLAN:
PROCEDURE
• Elicit
Here you can find out what the students know (prior knowledge).
• Engage
In this stage you want to engage interest and curiosity, raise “The BIG questions”
and introduce new learning through teacher explanation modelling.
• Explore
Pupils should be given opportunities to work together following the initial teacher
input to solve/explore problems, building concepts through first hand experience.
(This stage is independent of you, their teacher but may involve scaffolds
depending on the complexity of the task).
COMPONENTS OF 5E/7E LESSON PLAN:
PROCEDURE
• EXTEND
It is the stage to challenge all learners. In this stage you are encouraging
the students to apply or extend the concepts and skills in new situations.
Students make connections not just in the subject/ideas studied but also
beyond it. They are able to apply ideas/generalize and transfer principles.
COMPONENTS OF 4A’s LESSON PLAN:
ACTIVITYT
This will bring understanding to what the learners already know and clarity to what
learners should learn further. At this early stage, the student should already have a
retrospect of what they will be learning through the activity that will be presented.
ANALYSIST
A more in-depth understanding of the lesson, it is another phase where the students will
process and classify what is valid and not. The teacher on this part will ask further
questions and will also lead as a facilitator rather than mere lecturing and sharing facts
and ideas. The students know gains a wider view of the lesson but at the same time
draws closer to the main topic.
COMPONENTS OF 4A’s LESSON PLAN:
ABSTRACTIONT
The teacher on this part will now focus entirely on the lesson being presented and ask
more lead questions to lead the students in reinforcing what they know and should know
more. The student here starts to feel more the importance of the lesson to her and see the
necessity of it to his/her life.
APPLICATIONT
The word itself describes the stage as bringing the student to a more practical way of
using HOW are they going to use what they have learned and thinking of new ways on
how it can be improve further.
