NJ Democrat senator Cory Booker takes the floor in protest of Trump/Musk, "saying that he will keep going “'as long as I am physically able'.”
“I rise with the intention of disrupting the normal business of the United States Senate for as long as I am physically able,” Booker said at the outset of his remarks. “I rise tonight because I believe sincerely that our country is in crisis.”

Folks, he's still going - and importantly, he's talking about his own shortcomings, his own failures and the things he wants to do better because he knows he fucked up the last time.
If your disdain for Democrats has been rooted largely in their reluctance to meet the moment, then I heartily encourage you to watch the livestream — other Democratic senators are asking long-winded "questions (which is part of the rules and allows Booker to take the occasional break for a drink of water or to rest his feet or whatnot) and helping however they can.
Booker's going to hit 24 hours at 7 pm and it's worth watching a few minutes, don't you think?
If anyone didn’t already know, part of Booker’s aim was to break the existing record for the longest filibuster, which was the one segregationist Strom Thurmond staged to oppose the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
IIRC, Booker beat Thurmond’s time by more than an hour.

Disney’s live action Snow White remake will be released next week and while I’m excited for Rachel Zegler, I’m saddened by the fact that people keep trashing on her over the absolutely harmless stuff that she said during the marketing campaign (that the original Snow White was ‘dated and creepy’ and that her Snow White ‘won’t be saved by the prince nor dreaming about love’). Was it poorly worded? Yes. Does she deserve that much hatred over it? No.
And honestly I’ve been following her on social media since her West Side Story era and she has showed nothing but enthusiasm about playing Snow White and still does. But people reacted to her comments like she had run over their families with a car. So many men in the film industry have done SO MUCH WORSE yet they’re still thriving and being worshipped. It’s literally just misogyny (and racism). That poor girl has been subjected to vitriol since she first stepped into Hollywood, when people were being violently hateful towards her for ‘not speaking out’ against the sexual assault allegations against her West Side Story co-star Ansel Elgort (which she had literally nothing to do with, was only 18 years old, barely knew him and it was literally her first movie).
Not to mention how gross it is that people are praising Gal Greenstein Gadot and saying that she’s « more beautiful inside and out than Rachel and should have been Snow White » when 1) She’s a literal zionist, so what she looks like is completely and utterly irrelevant, she is a terrible person. And 2) She’s too old to play Snow White and those people are literally showing that they don’t actually care nor understand what the fairytale is about and just want to be racist, misogynistic piles of filth. It’s not a story that was ever about physical beauty.
I honestly feel so sorry for Rachel, she’s so beautiful and talented and a perfect choice for Snow White but Disney is truly doing her dirty, especially with the way the movie looks and the costumes. 🤢 It’s really not doing her any justice. She deserves better and I hope that she gets a new fairytale Princess role for a movie that won’t be made by Disney and will be successful. People are barely hiding their misogyny, it’s disgusting. Saying stuff like ‘I hope the Evil Queen wins this time’, ‘Go apple!’ and other putrid things.
Hey thanks for stopping by Nonny! I don't have the spoons to keep up with all the hate that gets sent to Rachel Zegler but I do plan on seeing the movie in theaters. I've already listened to one of the new songs and Rachel does an amazing job. I'm just hoping with fingers crossed that Gal Gadot doesn't come back as wonder woman ever again. WW84 was a total zionist mess.
