Coming out as a Zionist with a class project tomorrow. It has nothing to do with Zionism but it does ask that people maybe stop denying the mass rape of Israelis and I guess the whole seeing all people as human regardless of nationality gives it away.

We are presenting them by tabling so if people start acting stupid I’ll put out this binder I made into a sign that says “Too tired for anymore mishugas” and if anyone tries to tell me more bullshit I’ll just say, “mmh actually I have the sign up so you’re not allowed to talk to me”.

Had an idea for a book that was inspired by thinking of that one book I had as a kid called the selection or something? The one about the girls competing for the prince?

So it's the same concept and the book starts out with a relatively normal girl who is your average main character, we get to know her, her family, story and motivation, it's very clear the reader is supposed to root for her in the competition and develop an emotional attachment to her. She hits it off with the prince blah blah blah he is very much into her and it seems good until one day out of the blue she gets eliminated and sent back home.

Cut to the next part of the story, narrated by a completely new guy (this is a progressive kingdom so the prince gets all genders of candidates cause I said so lmao). Same thing happens as the first girl, the reader gets to spend some time in this guy's head, learn about him and his life, personality, experiences and feelings, get attached, blah blah blah.... the prince falls for him, they hit it off, sparks fly.... until this guy catches a mysterious illness and gets sent back home and disqualified for health concerns.

Cue a couple more parts with each new candidate getting out of the contest in a more bizarre way than the previous one (the third gets abducted by an intruder, the fourth hears voices telling them to walk into the nearby forest in the middle of the night (they comply), the fifth slowly becomes deranged and gets arrested for trying to assassinate the prince on live tv....) the further into the story the part is, the shorter it is before the odd shit happens.

The last part is narrated by the prince, and in this one we discover it was never a competition to be the prince's spouse and next ruler of the kingdom but a scheme of the king and queen to discreetly inquire and find out the preparator of large scale attacks against the royal family (you can tell this isn't the part that inspired it all since I haven't thought it out yet but it's something like that)

I shall now go to bed it's 1 am and I have work so I can't even plan shit out more tbh

The Porn Guy aka The Nice Guy aka The Canadian side of Pornhub aka SFW Pornhub’s REAL NAME is Ryan Creamer. No joke, that is legit his real name.

Also this.

Which led him to this.

Bless this man.

I can appreciate him and the service he’s providing independently of the shitshow that is the platform he’s hosted on.

He remains just as funny and weird on other platforms dw

By the way, the topic he was presenting was

‘Can I get an Honorary Degree if I Just Ask Really Nicely’

You know what, fuck it. Figure skating is now my favorite sport. Unless there's another one that will let a competitor dress up in a silly costume and do all these silly jumps and wiggles and fall on purpose, IN THE OLYMPICS, there's no contest

As a former figure skater I feel obliged to point out how technically difficult that little Chaplin patter would be. See the kind of speed he's getting up to and then immediately moving into that "walk" - sometimes without even a brake manoeuvre. The momentum you build up when moving at speed has to get released somewhere so stopping like that is usually an easy way to topple over (not on purpose). In the true spirit of Chaplin he is making very hard and potentially dangerous things look easy.

For anyone who might've been searching for who the skater is, @jay42 found out ! The athlete is Petr Barna, from the 1992 Winter Olympics

May his memory be a blessing.

Willem Arondéus (22 August 1894 – 1 July 1943) was a Dutch artist and author who joined the Dutch anti-Nazi resistance movement during World War II. He participated in the bombing of the Amsterdam public records office to hinder the Nazi German effort to identify Dutch Jews and others wanted by the Gestapo. Arondéus was caught and executed soon after his arrest. Yad Vashem recognized Arondéus as Righteous Among the Nations.

Their attack, which took place on 27 March 1943, was partially successful, and they managed to destroy 800,000 identity cards, and retrieve 600 blank cards and 50,000 guilders. The building was blown up and no one was caught on the night of the attack. However, due to an unknown betrayer, Arondéus was arrested on 1 April 1943. Arondéus refused to give up the rest of his team.

Arondéus was openly gay before the war and defiantly asserted his sexuality before his execution. His final words were:

"Tell the people that homosexuals are not by definition weak."

From Wikipedia

He was also a pretty great artist

Reblog to include his artwork!

May his memory be a blessing
