Beep boop! I look for accidental haiku posts. Sometimes I mess up.
While this is true, I feel like bad news should be paired with good whenever possible, so: some companies are not just defending, but expanding, their DEI initiatives.
One surprising company on this whitelist is Deutsche Bank. This is surprising because for many years they were Trump's bankers. That they're openly saying "nope, we're keeping those policies, thankyaverymuch" in open defiance of him says quite a lot. Abercrombie & Fitch, Nike, Dollar Tree, Macys, and Tiffany and Co have all hired (or are in the process of seeking to hire) a DEI consultant since the beginning of 2025. The NFL has put out a statement saying they're continuing their DEI program "because it makes the NFL better" (direct quote from Roger Goodell, the NFL commissioner). Ulta has opened a DEI program for the first time, and I know we all hate Adobe (I get it, I do, I also hate Adobe), they've actually donated to DEI initiatives this month. And Costco's shareholders voted by a 98%-to-2% margin to retain their DEI programs and practices. The last thing I would say is this, and I'm addressing this to Gen Z and Gen Alpha: before you were adults (or in Alpha's case, before you were born), we had this thing called "affirmative action." What was affirmative action? It was literally just another name for DEI. It's the exact same thing. Conservatives used the phrase as a scare tactic for decades....and the sky didn't fall. And eventually people started going "psh. Yeah, yeah, affirmative action, what-the-fuck-ever, what's for dinner?" They couldn't scare people with it anymore. Companies also couldn't pretend it was still an up-and-coming thing, so they relabeled it. All by itself, that's not a bad thing (I, too, prefer that companies hire on the basis of skill rather than demographic!). It's just that it gave conservatives a new label to latch onto. We already won this battle once. Yes, it's pretty bleak. But I promise, this isn't the end. I know because I saw the dying gasps of "oh no, affirmative action! [scary music]" in the early 2000s. In order to dismantle workplace equality initiatives, so much shit would have to be repealed, and much of it doesn't use the DEI buzzword, which means our current crop of fascist idiots will forget to look for it. This is a bump in the road, not the end of the trail. Keep fighting. "First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win."
@prismatic-bell I really value your approach of "Okay yes that's shit but here's the good" and as I was doom scrolling through the original post I was even thinking "okay but what's the other side look like" and then I got to your addition - I think it's really important to not give in to the defeatism of "oh the bullies are winning" - because the only thing the bullies are is loud. Not to minimize that there are bad things moving, but there are very good people actively resisting. It's not over, not by a longshot.
Also - this line from costco actually gave me more hope than there rest of the post, and that's significant because the post was very positive overall:
And Costco's shareholders voted by a 98%-to-2% margin to retain their DEI programs and practices.
Because that's not... just the CEO being "woke" or leftist or just understanding that DEI benefits EVERYONE, that's the SHAREHOLDERS saying that. That's the people with the money and the power in the company, the ones who want to see the profits who are agreeing with a near-unanimous vote that yes this is important.
"The Shareholders" was not a group of people I expected to be voting that way, much less that hard.
hey everyone its april fools. but dont worry i dont have anything planned. just going to sit here and...
I LIED !!!! GET PRANKED
POST BELOW ME GET FUCKING WET
artists fuck better because we turn sex into art, masterpieces, mattresses become canvases where we can paint our love to someone with bodies.

Native French speaker here. "Ta gueule" is actually more like "shut the fuck up" in terms of level of disrespect
also worth noting is that the "are you happy" is the correct gender

Donald’s family is composed of three branches. The McDuck Clan, Coot kin and the Duck family.
Coots are smaller birds that often get mistaken for ducks and while Coot can be used as a last name like how Duck or Mouse are common last names in the duckverse (like Johnson or Smith etc) I doubt that Barks and Rosa went out of their way to give them a last name without it having some biological meaning as well.
Donald’s dad, Quackmore Duck, is the son of Elvira Coot and Humperdink Duck. Now, unfortunately we don’t know much about Humperdink’s parents but we’re given enough tools at our disposal to figure enough out.
Donald’s mother is Hortense McDuck, a fiery duck from Scotland. As far as I can tell, duck is all she has.
So that’s it right?? Donald is part duck part coot??
NOPE
THERE’S SOMETHING ELSE
DONALD’S PART GOOSE AS WELL
The guy who looks high at the bottom left corner of the picture there?? That’s Gus Goose. He’s a semi-distant cousin of Donald’s related to him from his father.
Now it’s implied from the family tree that the goose part for Gus came from Luke Goose which is fine and dandy and it could very well have been from him. But again, it doesn’t have to be the only source of goose in his family. (and it already isn’t considering Gladstone Gander canonically being half goose half duck)
Humperdink’s parents are unknown right?? Who’s to say he isn’t part goose as well? Maybe he got it from his dad or mom who knows they’re not in the tree. And if he’s part goose part duck, then Quackmore is goose-duck-coot mixed.
Going by all of this, we can say that Donald Duck is 2/4ths Duck, ¼th Coot and ¼th Goose.
Does this have anything to do with how he can cast Zeta Flare and survive?
YESSSSSSS THE MCDUCKS, COOT, AND DUCK HISTORY IS SO MUCH FUN Omg I need to reread asap
I feel like the big push for AI is starting to flag. Even my relatively tech obsessed dad is kinda over it. What do you even use it for? Because you sure as hell dont want to use it for fact checking.
There's an advertisement featuring a woman surreptitiously asking her phone to provide her with discussion topics for her book club. And like... what. Is this the use case for commercial AI? This the best you could come up with? Lying to your friends about Moby Dick?
One of the big pushes tech companies are making for AI is entirely in the tool of convenience. Take Gemini for example, one of Google's really big pitches for it is in features like Help Me Read and Help Me Write, which are like the lowest tier use case for deep learning models but are also the two AI features that the average consumer will actually care about. Sure they advertise the GenAI stuff Gemini Advanced is able to do, but they've woken up to the idea that the average consumer does not care about GenAI and non-AI Bros fundamentally loathe GenAI.
Every company with a language model got sucked into the venture capital pitfall of AI and now have to market the one set of features the general person actually cares about.
I work in advertising and the culture shift surrounding AI even from January until now (end of March) has been drastic. At the beginning of the year, the company I work for was using AI to design most of their assets. Clients started coming back and requesting that we no longer use AI generated images or videos for copyright liability reasons. Basically, there's no way to tell whose art or photography was scalped to make an image, so as companies who are trying to make a profit using potentially stolen images, it puts them in a gray area, legally.
Also, companies do look at their comment sections. Anti-AI commenters on social media ("this is not a real image" "I don't trust companies who use AI" etc) are seen by higher ups of a company. Basically, keep bullying brands who use AI, it's working. Now my company uses almost no AI for deliverables, which is a huge win.

Maybe if Zionists didn't act like Nazis and pull out pages straight from the Nazi handbook, they wouldn't be compared to Nazis. The parallels are many.

This is the official Springtime In New England post. Reblog this post and add the early signs of spring you've seen this year
false spring has passed and third winter is drawing to a close... we might be onto something here.
Also it's legally spring.
IT'S LEGALLY SPRING????
yeah the solstice was on the 21st.
Annnnd it's snowing in NH
This too is an early sign of spring in new england 😔
The driveway is mud covered in snow.
We got an ice storm warning for the next few hours.
Gosh I hate grind culture. My little sister just started medical school and all of her orientation leaders are like “you absolutely cannot have a life WHATsoever you WILL have to give up EVERYTHING besides this program say GOODBYE to your hobbies and relationships” and now she’s calling me feeling guilty for running and going to the grocery store and that’s just WRONG! And that is exactly what I was told starting law school as well, and rejecting that mentality was the best thing I ever did but it was so hard not to buy into. Anyway if any of you are in an intense academic program PLEASE take time to sleep and eat and exercise and maintain your relationships and keep up your hobbies! you are not a robot who exists solely to study and I promise that living a life and staying physically and mentally healthy is not going to make you fail
Workaholism is not just a “millennial quirk”, it’s a very real psychological problem that should not be normalized and praised. Diligence and self-realization? Awesome!!! Working so much you forget to eat, sleep and socialize? Not okay under any circumstances.
Fuck yes sleep will help you so much more than chugging caffeine and forcing yourself to study all the tie.
Is it morally wrong to steal an unfixed cat with no collar that you found rolling in dirt? asking for a friend because I've been told it "might belong to someone"
*looks back at the incredibly friendly intact male cat with no collar and no chip that was almost certainly owned by people down the street who were on like their 5th cat because they all kept getting killed on the busy road that I took to my work and after stray hold got him altered and adopted out*
To clarify a bit further:
Take the cat to a vet and get it checked for a microchip. If chipped, contact owners IF they've bothered to register it or keep their contact information updated (who wants to guess what happened with the chip in so many of the few few chipped cats that came into the shelter when I worked there?). But intact cats are very unlikely to be chipped.
If no chip, contact your local shelter. Say you found this friendly intact stray with no chip and you'd like to report it found and ask what are the laws on fostering it in your home and for how long the stray hold period would be. Or see if you can be told when the cat is going up for adoption so you can adopt it from the shelter.
But either way, pick up that cat and see if you can make its life better!
