Nationwide Anti-Trump Protests on April 5th, 2025

This Saturdayโ€” April 5th, 2025โ€” will be the first truly nationwide day of protests against the second Trump administration, with more than 500 "Hands Off" events planned across all 50 states. The vast majority of Americans will have an anti-Trump protest nearby them.

You can find the protest closest to you here. You can get more information about the day of action here. You can explore the list of 150+ organizations sponsoring the day of action here.

i donโ€™t expect this to be very widely known but here in vancouver weโ€™ve had a barge stuck on shore since mid november

I think itโ€™s really important, for non-Vancouverites, that you know some additional layers of the joke to this, because this shitโ€™s got history:

  • One of our parks has an abstract statue in it of someone reclining.
  • In Nov 2012, an artist made a sign as a joke,ย โ€œDude Chilling Parkโ€, which looked exactly like our official Parks Board signs (except for the official park boards seal).ย
  • The Vancouver Parks Board removed the sign but, after a whole lot of petitions, they put in an official one a year and a half later, alsoย โ€œDude Chilling Parkโ€, but now with the proper seal attached.
  • ย Fast forward 7 years later. We have horrible floods. A barge washes up on Sunset Beach and gets grounded there. It has yet to be removed.
  • The Vancouver Parks Board, unprompted, adds a โ€œBarge Chilling Beachโ€ sign.
  • โ€ฆAlso, they announced this by tweet:

my favourite part of the apothecary diaries is jinshi freaking out over maomao's impulsive freaky tendencies (but he's lowkey into that)
