Mine and @chaoticcreaturehideaway’s wool order came in today, meaning I got to have an UNREASONABLE amount of fun at SCA training making people guess what fabric my wool muslin was. The most popular guesses were linen and silk. The range of faces when I told them it was wool will keep me going for weeks 😂😂

Some photos I guess. Not pictured is how ridiculously soft it feels. Like i genuinely think this is one of the most pleasant fabrics I’ve ever interacted with

@vaityadil @mrsjdavis I got it from Woolsome - I source a lot of my garment wools from them as well. They’re a tad pricey (not unjustifiably), especially with shipping, but oh my god is it worth it. They’re have some real nice stuff, and their target audience is reenactors, so they have so many lovely historical styles and weaves.

EBAY ARE ADDING AI TO THEIR SITE. YOU HAVE AUTOMATICALLY BEEN OPTED IN. GO AND OPT OUT.

you cannot turn it off via the app or mobile site, you HAVE to be on desktop.

To turn this off, sign into your account click on the Hi (your name)! > My eBay > Account > AI training preferences and you can toggle off the permission.

Done.

For my own peace of mind, after opting out at the default ebay.ie URL, I logged out again then logged into ebay.co.uk and ebay.com (because that's how my mind works).

The opt-out was showing correctly on all three, so it only needs done once.

The direct link is https://accountsettings.ebay.com/ai-preferences once you're logged in.

When I tell that I LOVE solarpunk

Oh, I remember this, the edit was done by youtuber Waffle to the left.

They didn't just cut out the parts with the oat milk, they skillfully edited over all the god-damn branding and replaced the audio.

But what I still find most hilarious about this whole commercial is the fact that everything they show in this solar punk world seems to be made with sustainable, zero waste and reusable materials.

Everything EXCEPT THE FUCKING CHOBANI BRANDED STUFF! The only plastic you see in this whole commercial is all the straight to the landfill packaging made by the very corporation that tries to sell how sustainable and "green" they are. Unintentional self satire at its finest.

They couldn't even show their yogurt and milk in (basically infinitely reusable) glass containers because they pretty much only sell their shit in plastic

It is such a perfect example of the true face of "green" capitalism, it's hilarious.

The punk in this solarpunk comes from cutting the corporation out of the picture

ALSO

Another really interesting thing about this edit is that they changed the label on the side of the apple-picking machine.

From "donations" to "commons". It's a subtle change, but it makes a huge difference in the world-building of the video. The former implies that this big orchard belongs to an owner and that they're donating the fruits to "the less fortunate" (and, by extension, that poverty is still a thing); the latter implies that the orchard belongs to everyone and that the fruits are free to take in the spirit of solidarity.

Waffle To The Left brought out the potential in this gorgeous video and made it an actual solarpunk utopia — without brands and without corporate pandering, complete with true common ownership over land and resources.

6 hour workday maximum i’m not kidding, if it can’t be done in that timeframe it doesn’t need doing.

this doesn't apply to jobs like childcare

If i worked in childcare and my 6 hours were up i would start putting babies in ziploc bags and shipping them to Turkmenistan listed as endangered fruits and vegetables
