Sleepover surprise!
(Caution: Long post ahead!)
Last week, we were told that the 1st years were taking over CG on Monday and the rest of us could just sit back, relax and let the young-ies pamper us. Then an sms came the night before and informed us that CG in a form of a sleepover would take place somewhere out campus, and that we were supposed to meet at 7.30pm all ready with our pillows and a big appetite. (Sounded great..first thought that came to my mind-body massages while being fed with grapes by our 1st years) And so 7.30pm came, roomie and i were all ready with our pillows and bolsters (& big appetites), waiting for the rest to come up to our room to get the sleepover party started. It was all well until one of the young-ies announced that we were to put on a party cone hat before the journey from campus to the sleepover place since it was a parteh! (Right!.)
the oldies
And so the few of us sportingly put it on, walked from the room, through common areas and finally down to the car park with much grins from people who saw us with our cone hats and pillows. (Hrmmpphh)
Upon reaching the sleepover place, we were then blindfolded and chaperoned into the house. It must have been quite a sight seeing 4 blindfolded girls with cone hats, crossing the street, holding pillows and bolsters. Once sitted, we were then told to open our blindfolds and acrabadaba!....the things that were prepared before us were soo unimaginably nice.
four blind mice

Some of things prepared by the 1st years

The night went on with much laughter and emo moments.
Then the ultimate surprise came, we were blindfolded again and chaperoned out of the house. I'm not sure about the others then, but i seriously thought that that was it man..the body massage out in the clear night sky! perfect !.. and then pooopp...the next thing i realize was having water in my mouth( I must have ter-opened my mouth when dreaming about the body massage). The young-ies blindfolded us, lined us up in a line and threw water balloon at us. Point blank. And there i was thinking about being pampered. After that, it was water balloon fight - std 6 style..1st yrs vs. final yrs.
The night ended with all of us drenched, tired but happy.
Our slumber area for the night

This kinda things will be the things you'll look back in ten years time and still be able to smile or the things we'll talk about during reunions and still be able to make us go all excited and laugh at each other like how i would still talk and laugh at the things we did ten years ago during reunions or gatherings.
Yea..this is another one of those moments.
Thank you, You, yOu and yoU.

Of pills & people
I think i have come to a stage where i've accepted that i'm no longer young. As much as i dislike to say that, but yea, i've come to realise that age is catching up and i'm no longer as youthful as i would like to be. Health was not a major issue to me when i was in my teens but now it has taken a toll on me. Late nights, unhealthy eating habits and lack of exercise have contributed to the recent episodes of visits to the doctor. The last few weeks, i've been popping pills into my system so much so it has made me look like i was a drug addict. But no..no i'm not giving up. I'm empowered to put things back on track. I'm empowered to eat healthily and exercise regularly. I'm hopeful that all this can be changed. So..let the ultimate makeover begin! The other thing i realized is that i'm beginning to love country songs alot. Another getting-old-syndrome i think.

Election's reflection
Amidst all the buzz about who'll be the next Perak's MP, how great the swing of votes was and how bad the blue guys are suffering from the loss of their "jewels-Penang & Selangor" now, i can't help but think what will happen next. Not that i'm an expert in this field, but i guess as a first-timer in this "game" of grown-ups, there are a few thoughts..
Personally i feel for those contenders who sincerely wanted to serve the community and the country but were ousted because they happened to be in the wrong party. Not because they can't work and deliver, but because they just happened to be in the wrong party. Well then again, i may be too naive in thinking that there are sincere people who really want to serve the community. (But maybe there really are !!)
I've heard countless people expressing their joy in seeing the 2/3 majority votes finally penetrated, but i've also heard the cries of those who said that this poll have been an overkill, with many voters being too emotional and had given the opposition way too many seats. Yes, there'll be a change, yes this will be a wake up call for some and a jubilation shout for others but i guess the crucial point would be the people to deliver their promises, to take the mandate of the rakyat to their hearts and hands and work at it with integrity. I hope the new guns would not sink too deep in their disbelief and in the excitement of their victory (or the blue ones to wallow too long in their loss) but will serve and give their best in the governing all that has been entrusted to them.
Now that the election has ended let's continue to pray that the transition of power will be a smooth one as well.
This is just the beginning.

Mustard seed

Today i was reminded of how little faith i have, how much i fail to believe with all my heart, my strength and my mind that He can do mighty things if i could just allow Him to take control, submit to Him wholeheartedly in prayer and wait upon Him expectantly.
Despite all these, yet He never gave up on me and i'm more than thankful for that and for allowing me to see Him work in such powerful ways today.
He alone has moved that mountain when i was struggling with all my strength to move it myself.
He alone has made it happened when nothing else could.
He alone is worthy to be praised.
O Lord, give me mustard seed-like faith in facing future mountains.

Sampai memutih rambutku

Kau selalu hadir saat aku rindukanMu
Kau yang selalu setia
Menopangku dengan kasih setia
Memberi aku kekuatan di tengah badai yang menakutkan
Sampai memutih rambutku
Kau putuskan aku menutup usiaku
Ku kan selalu menyembahMu
Oh Yesus Tuhanku
KumilikMu
Selamanya bagiMu
Learned this song while i was at the Dengkil NS camp and i thought it spoke volumes.
Undeserved
Came home yesterday and to my surprise...one of these was on my bed!...
Have been wanting one of these for sooo long, since i first saw it on one of my bro's WWF postal orders. Told him how cute they were and don't mind chipping in for nature's good to get it.
Forgot all about it until yesterday when mum persistently called me from my room, asking me to come upstairs and get a bath. Did not suspect anything. The moment i saw it...i was WOAH!!.... Is it real?!!... Yes, yes...i get thrilled by lil things.
Paid in full. Love it lots!
Thanks Ko!
* If you're interested to obtain one of these or to make donations to WWF Malaysia, the office is located next to Cash Converters, Jln SS23/15, 47400. P.J and all proceeds from purchasing these merchandises will be channelled to WWF's environmental protection work..
Imagine if every RM 1 paid to purchase a garment/clothing was channelled to a good cause, i'm sure there'll be sufficient funds to make this world a better place since we love to shop so much?!!
