This is totally random, but it struck me.Disaster after disaster have befell this nation since the beginning of 2008.

First was the snow...
1) The snow storm struck in Feb which left thousands of people stranded in the city; not being able to reunite with their families to celebrate the Lunar New Year and with more than 50 killed.

Then came the quake...
2) Sichuan Province's Earthquake with a Richter Scale of about 7.8, with more than 50 thousand dead and millions homeless.

Then the flood...
3) Guangdong's flood which saw many homeless, billions in damage and hundreds killed.

and then there was the recent flood +typhoon in Hong Kong.

Snow storm - earthquake - flood -typhoon. One after another.

I know i'll never be able to understand the massiveness of their damage, i'll never be able to understand their sufferings and it would be fake to say that i empathize with them.


But this i know, that He is still in control.

But it's all good.

And i'm happy.

A live stage performance..

Hilariously funny

When my friend asked me out to watch this i wasn't keen at all. No offense, but i've always found watching animations in the cinema a tad too expensive for people on a budget like me. To me animations are canggih cartoons. But they are still cartoons. With the same price, i'd rather go for a non-animation or even better go buy something to eat. Anyway, because Sume was so enthusiastic about it, saying how funny it would be, i thought i'll not deprive her of it and not be a kill-joy. That's what friends are for anyway.


Verdict: It's ultra hilarious! Not the smile-ish funny..But the ketawa terbahak-bahak funny! And above all..i liked some of the things that were quoted in the movie..

What's whippin' ?

Haven't had a chance to whip something up for a long long time. Thought it was about time i take out the cake tins again. And so on Saturday, with Ching calling for her last supper, i knew the "chimneys" had to work again!

Mum handed me a recipe which she stumbled upon while reading a magazine. Nothing elaborate, not complicated at all.

i've always wondered who were the first few people who thought that when you mix some flour, sugar and butter...POP!...you'll get a cake...and how did they know how much to put in.....with no measuring cups, weighing machine ...
