Slightly employed now
I fell asleep.
Which was unsurprising due to the circumstances but I’m so mad! I love this movie. It’s so dumb and to me a good extension of the Pirates universe, even if it is a little lacklustre without Elizabeth and Will Turner.
Fountain of Youth storyline has me quaking with Indiana Jones type joy. We can all pretend the Spanish explorers are the Nazi’s (THIS IS ONLY TO FOLLOW MY METAPHOR!), and Johnny with his stupid hat is swinging by to save the day like Indie.
Just another great nostalgia watch.
It’s really lucky these pirates only pillage and plunder. Wouldn’t be such a fun franchise if we introduced the R word now would it.
The music in this film could start a new religion.
Biblical stuff.
And if my wedding isn’t mid-battle, in the pouring rain and officiated by Captain Barbosa… I don’t want it!
Robert Patterson, the freaky little man that you are.
This was a brilliant concept, a cool world (no irony here), eccentric dictatorship, creepy religious freaks, and a whole lot of fantastical creatures.
But which plot line was the real story?
Mickey 17 was very much an introduction to a world and not a fleshed out piece.
Enjoyable to watch and with a bit of comedy body horror it was definitely a fun cinema experience. But with the meandering screen time from one topic to the next, the audience either needs 3 more films or a full HETV series.
